Let's Play More Minecraft and rediscover the game again. Following from my previous video, we are exploring a whole new world of updates I've never seen. Let's fall in love with Minecraft again
I've now made this a series! You can watch my entire Minecraft Let's Play in order here: • RTGame Minecraft Let's...
Thanks for the massive amount of support on the first video of my Minecraft adventure. I'm glad so many people have picked up the game again to give it a go for themselves. I'm excited to play more of the game, and if you enjoyed this video I recommend playing it for yourself too. I've been asked a lot to share the seed for my world, but I don't plan to share this. I want people to have their own adventure and not just try replicate my own one - I hope that's understandable!
The Chapters of Part 2 of my Adventure:
00:00 The End Dimension
07:57 The Mountain Basement
23:42 The Ocean Temple
45:25 The World Map
1:00:43 The Map Adventure
1:11:53 The Hell Barn
1:19:05 The Far South
1:34:38 The Ocean Raid
1:42:58 The Moses of Minecraft
Everything in this video was recorded live on my Twitch Channel. My schedule is Tuesday & Thursday @ 7pm, Saturday & Sunday @ 3pm - all times based in Ireland: / rtgame

Rediscovering Minecraft has been an absolute joy. Thank you so much to everyone for the massive amount of support on my previous Minecraft video, which I'd strongly recommend watching before this one if you haven't already. This video contains everything I've played since the last video. I'll be continuing the series starting TOMORROW 3pm GMT on my Twitch channel - if you watch this, you will be completely up to date. Massive thank you as ever to my editor Cloé for working on this, as these videos are a significant undertaking compared to others. I'm hoping to make at least one more video to follow this in the near future of my stream highlights. I hope everyone enjoys it :) Edit: I made a little blunder with music accidentally layering at certain points in the video, and I apologise there. It seems one of my audio tracks didn't mute properly come the final edit. I'll be more careful come the next one there. It shouldn't disrupt the video too much, but it is a little noticeable when it occurs haha

"On that day, the drift king had made his plans to part the seas. For such would part the world itself, and prove his power and brilliance. The lord saw this, and, taken aback by the insolence, summoned forth himself before a simple beast of the land. 'Jimmy, ye humble creeper,' said the lord, 'The king Daniel hath plans to make this world his own. He attempts to split the very oceans in twain for his own purposes. Go forth, and do what must be done.' The creeper spoke not, for it had no vocal chords to speek with, yet it knew what must be done. Mustering its strength to ascend the waters, Jimmy flew to the heights of the tower, and in that moment he saw what was created. The towers were of beautiful crystal, and the tables held the maps of the world themself upon them. Jimmy was awestruck, for the house was beautiful. As Jimmy ignited, they wept internally. For, despite following the words of Mojang, the creeper knew that this was truly a nice house, and that it would be a shame for what was to happen to it." -Definitely not the bible

Something I love about the series that I haven’t seen anyone else mention is how much it truly feels like a story. It doesn’t feel like someone just min maxing a video game, it truly feels like an explorer attempting to thrive in a strange new world, which is something that most Minecraft series fail to do. Well done Mr. Game and Mrs. Cloè the editor.

RT's videos are usually so earnest and that's what makes it so fun. He plays what he's interested in and if he likes it he's INVESTED (remember Clint hitting on Emily?). Jokes are good, able to spitball and riff occasionally, and he's not doing all this just to cash in on hyped stuff and it really shows. I've basically had his Minecraft VODs on loop to chill to because it's just a good time all around. Too bad he's ancient and he's gonna die of old age soon 😢

for some reason... when RT was just building the mountain basement, with the chill music... it got me really nostalgic for back when I used to play Minecraft all the time. Like RT, I haven't seriously played Minecraft outside of the build streams in years... and this series of videos has really got me reminiscing on those times. Back when I was just a kid, back when I wasn't constantly worried, when I wasn't questioning who I was as a person. The carefree days of just playing the silly block game with my friend. It's dumb, but... this series made me remember how that felt, even if only for a little while. So, thank you, RT.

Feels weirdly better than I thought it would. I was expecting it to be more painful. Feels like the kinda something that's been missing. I cannot emphasize enough how immensely cool the Hollow Mountain is as a setting. It's a mountain that's also a gigantic cavern with towering stalagmites nearly touching the roof and tunnels that lead further down. There's evidence of people being down here before with mine shafts, but it looks like reality altered around them with nonsensical layouts and structures floating in the air. There are amethyst geodes the size of houses. There's a wizard tower on top of the mountain made out of those geodes. Someone please made a DnD module out of this

It's the most fantastical, imagination-inspiring setup i've ever seen. I keep picturing the wizard guiding a group of adventurers through the perilous cavern, confidently navigating the strangely coloured tower, goading the others to follow. What’s weird is I grew up with Minecraft. Since 1st grade I’ve been obsessed with it. I watched KZbinrs, I laughed, I cried, and I grew up with this game. Of course, I got older. I stopped touching the game after a few years, claiming it had “fallen off.” However, I always knew it would have a place in my heart. As I grew up, those KZbinrs revealed their true colors. I lost a lot of the people I looked up to in the past years, and it hurt me. To rediscover an interest, a growing desire with this game from a KZbinr I’ve grown to love in the past 5 years? It feels.. good. It feels good to know I’ve grown and I’m able to rediscover an old love for something like this with a creator I value and always take the time to check in with. I’m an adult now, and I still find a kid inside of myself whenever I see these videos. Thank you, Dan.

Watching dan explore the underwater and trail ruins really made me realise how... unintuitive the archaeology system of the game actually is. Like there's nothing to tell players to look for the suspicious gravel or use the brush on it to dig up items, unless they follow the patch notes or watch it from someone else. Like even a toast popup in the corner when you destroy a piece of suspicious gravel would help, just anything to inform the player that they're doing something wrong.

To be fair, much of Minecraft is obscure/unintuitive. Nobody would think to make a nether portal (aside from maybe after seeing one of the ruined ones), or craft eyes of ender to find the End portal, or put three wither skulls on soulsand, so on. There are dozens of blocks that are lost forever without silk touch or the right tool. The word-of-mouth style to the game is one of its unique traits I wouldn't want it to lose, even if one of the frustrating ones too (especially when watching people who are stubbornly committed to the 'go in blind' mindset). Dan is luckily not like that, and open to learning from chat / has seen snippets of newer content. Maybe the game wouldn't be so special if it didn't call for such collaboration and could be mastered in a vacuum like most others :)

@@wissertI kind of disagree with this, Minecraft is undoubtedly a special game due to its legacy and ideas but it's kind of not super well designed, and I don't mean that the word of mouth systems don't work, I mean that the way that the game is being designed now and how it *was* being designed originally are actively clashing. Minecraft is no longer trying to get people to figure out features and spread them, now it fully intends for its players to figure out features in-game, hence adding the crafting recipes as a pop-up on the left and all the new structures hinting at what your goals should be... And that's fine, changing it's design from difficult to comprehend without the community to something that anyone can pick up and figure out is actually great! However the team isn't committing fully to it. Pillagers are easy to figure out from gameplay, so are caves and mining. Better ores = better equipment, lava = deadly, raiders = bad, most of the game works on simple to understand logic but when you introduce a block that has a different sound and slightly different look to another, however is still designed to closely resemble that block, and you make one item required to get it to its full potential, and you don't give either the block or an item a tooltip, you're back to the original design philosophy of "if people find out, they'll spread the word". I love Minecraft, truly. I have been playing it since 1.3.2, but I just wish the game would pick a course and stay on it. The very directionless way it's currently going is upsetting.

The "dig site" that RT found was a structure called the trail ruins, to loot it properly, you need to make a brush with copper, a stick and a feather. Then you can loot the odd looking gravel for items like dyes, panes, music discs and more. Honestly one of my personal favourite additions and I hope RT eventually discovers its true function as its honestly fairly relaxing Underwater structures like the desert temple and sunken ruins can also have these gravel variants or even sand, which have different loot including diamonds, more pottery shards and sniffer eggs, a new mob added. Edit: the entire point of this comment was for Dan to know abit more about what he found, as a friendly piece of info, not start an argument in the comments.

I make very small and quaint builds as well. I don't want to grind for all those blocks. I'd just hop into creative and use World Edit if I want to build massive builds. Coping and pasting already stuff I made by hand is more time-efficient. You're cheating in Minecraft survival though, I mean so? Probably also has something to do with my conservative nature. If I don't want to destroy the environment in real life why would I want to destroy the natural environment of Minecraft's landscape? This is why I hate Mojang not adding a way to make certain blocks like coral: I understand the point of why they made coral blocks not having crafting recipe, since coral can't be replaced in real life, Minecraft is a video game. Making mud is also annoying. just make it so mud can happen when it rains and there's dirt on the ground. Though that may cause a lot of lag if they actually incorporated it.

mr rt game, this video literally, unironically, legitimately, and all of those words and more, made me cry. i cannot express in words how much i am enjoying watching you playthrough my favourite childhood and and still favorite game, in way i have never been able to play through it myself. Ive always wanted to play minecraft the way you are right now ever since i saw my my cousin playing on his ipad 15 years ago, and after watching some of ny favorite lets play youtuber like stampylongnose, squaisheyquack, and popularmmos. But i had never gotten around to playing like this in such a calming creative way where you build and explore and create in your world to write a story and adventure of your life lived there, because ive struggled due to my adhd to not immediately build megastructures and then give up halfway and abandon the world. watching you play has let me relive that wishfulfillment i got by watching my favorite minecraft youtuber a back in the day. watching you had inspired me to try again to get back into the game and actually live in it and create my own story, and i thank you for that. please keep uploading these videos, and thank you ms editor for presenting them in such a way that makes me so happy. thank you

Watching these videos is so calming yet so surreal. It's like a portal back in time to when I'd go over to my mate's place as a kid and watch him play Minecraft on the Xbox 360 because he only had one controller. I feel like pointing out things or offering help just like I did back then, even though it's a video of a random dude on the other side of the world who I've never met. I'm sitting here thinking "Look out for that ravine" like an idiot. Even so, it still takes me back to then. It's such a strange feeling. On the rare occasions that I play Minecraft these days it's lost the magic it had when I was little. I just speedrun through the game with the most optimal strategies without taking my time. Abusing villagers for gear, getting netherite to become immortal, gunning for an elytra, all of that crap. That's stuff that takes knowledge and skill that I have learnt over a long time of playing this game and yet I wish I could have the kind of experience that Dan has in these videos, just playing Minecraft how it was meant to be played. All of the suboptimal and "pointless" stuff that he does in this world would sometimes make me die inside when I started watching the series, but I eventually realised that none of the things he does are actually "wrong". Sure, they might be slower than the best method or even outright hinder his overall progress, but he's still having a good time. If I was to do those things myself in my own world I would be thinking "I could have been done with this by now". He knows just enough information about the game to know what he is able to do, but not enough information to know the best way to do it. It's like his ability to play Minecraft is protected by blissful ignorance lmao. The option to discover something and figure out what it is and how it should be managed by himself is open, most of us have followed all of the updates and have been shown exactly what the best way to do something is by others. He's lucky in that way. I'm really glad Dan is having so much fun with this playthrough, there aren't too many people on the planet who have had this game be such a big part of their lives but can still play it like it's one of their first times ever. And even outside of the personal part, to have such success on a multi-part, 2-hour-long-episode, unmodified Minecraft Let's Play in 2024 in which he literally just plays the game, it says a lot about a creator. I mean I thought about all this so much that I cared enough to write this long ass comment, so he must be doing something right.

In particular the "building montage" section with the basement felt so gentle in a way. The synced block placement to the music at 18:00 that wasn't jump cut or edited, just someone placing blocks and thinking how best they might look. Its actually really fun watching someone experience minecraft like this! Seeing you get creative, or try to puzzle stuff out, not going about things like you know every single detail about the game or have a wiki open (because you don't)... I think sometimes when a game is this longstanding, it gets to a point where most folks know everything already and/or don't stop to smell the roses, even if they are new players, because the game is so widely discussed and played online Edit: Incoming asswhooping for the Guardians at 41:00 haha I respect it

1:28:36 at this point, I recommend you get the brush to uncover artifacts in the gravel. That's incredibly rare and valuable and great care needs to be taken to not destroy any gravel in a thing like that.

31:21 The fact that no one told Dan about doors is brutal 1:28:00 yes I remember the good ole days of Minecraft where if you found a stray piece of cobblestone in the wilderness it meant your server was haunted and it’s time to burn it all down

I had forgotten how wonderful it is to see someone play minecraft without having done it a million times (in survival). I'm so glad you made this series RT, its really nice.
