Thank you for the part about using your sit bones, and keeping your neck straight on the ground without tilting your chin toward your chest. I also like the part about using your head upper body and your triceps to support your strength. I’ll try to keep all this in mind. You’re the only person who explains all these minute details about what the body is doing.

Yay so glad these tips were helpful! I have a workshop on my site called "bottoms up" and it goes over even more things you can do to prepare your body for overhead work. I love to share these tips in my online workouts so I'm thrilled you're finding them helpful here! xx

@@OnlinePilatesClasses I have been looking at the community (finally getting a chance; I am caregiving and I am mighty tired) and was looking at the video for the Q you asked , pondering a response to "having trouble practicing". I did do about fifteen minutes this morning before the cleaning folks came (my mother has very demanding standards but neither patience nor energy to do any of the work herself) but I am wondering if people feel they are able to be frank about being de-conditioned, being torn away from our regular routines. Also, those of us who were always picked last for gym and came later to movement, or were ridiculed in balleymt class -- we don't always feel heard when trying to articulate our challenges when trying to communicate with people to whom movement has historically come a little more easily in their lives 💃🏼

@@mrb4761 absolutely! OMG you are soo not alone. First, my OPC community is a no-judgment zone. And when people are hard on themselves the community comes to support them and show them what they are doing well. I believe in celebrating wins even the smallest ones like you getting in 15 mins! that is amazing! There are moms in there, busy dudes in there, brand newbies in there who are wondering even what a roll over is. I am not a dancer and contrary to my YT videos trust me...coordination and movement with grace do not come easily for me. So, you I do think this community is for you. xx

Wow thank you Lesley, such great tips! I'd love you lives! Would you say if someone is struggling with roll over and they can't balance during rolling like a ball when they should avoid roll over until they can? Love you work x
@OnlinePilatesClasses3 жыл бұрын
yep, but there are other things they can work on during the roll over. They can have their legs up to the sky and just do little pelvic lifts without their legs coming closer to them. On OPC we have a "bottoms up" workshop. There's some great tips in there to also help them.
