Good day, I follow all your videos and have great success with my African Night Crawlers thanks to your advices. Now I like to build a CFT. Is it working with my worms too or only with red wriggler? I ask because my ANC are mostly at the bottom of the bins. Thank you.

@CaptainMattsWorms In your drawing, it states using 1" pipe, and in the video, you state you're using 3/4" pipe. Which do you prefer/recommend using?

Great info on all your videos, thank you for sharing your work! Why not just hot glue the PVC pipes in place? I think it would hold just as well and you wouldn't have to use all those screws and deal with all the work of drilling and screwing all those pipes.

I think you should also put a plywood floor in it, sitting on top of the 2x4 base. This will make it easier to rake the casting off the plywood flooring and into a dust pan or flat head shovel. Currently the harvesting method involves trying to get all the castings off the floor and up over the 2x4 base with that flat wooden rake you have and I am sure many castings are left on the floor. So harvesting leaves a mess I would guess. By raking the castings down onto a wooden floor that is sitting on top of the 2x4 base, then you can sweep all the casting into a dust pan and leave very little mess if any at all. The additional cost would be 1 extra sheet of plywood. Also, can it be put on heavy duty casters so it can be rolled around the shop?

I don’t think there are casters strong enough for the weight he has. I’d probably make a free float frame like an aquarium stand and do the ply wood floor idea and water proof it with marine grade fiber glass resin on the frame. I’m going to build one, I’ll coat the bin with pond shield and make a glass window on the front, using the fiber glass resin where the glass will be siliconed.

@@rofishy2 If you notice even his single plastic bins are so heavy he can hardly lift them. So the material has to weight tons. Its dangerous.
@rofishy22 ай бұрын
@@dougayers7517 I’m talking 3/4 inch tampered glass, that is used for up to 600 gallons of water. I’ll use 3/4 plywood reinforced with framing. A free float stand uses a 4/4 frame

What are your thoughts on creating a simple jig and cutting the PVC in half lengthwise? Although I imagine it would help save $ since only half the amount of PVC would need to be originally purchased, I would be concerned about the strength after doing that. Thoughts?
