This farm is really perfect. I've built it in survival on vanilla 1.17.1 server. Few comments for newbie minecrafters, who are going to build it in survival: 1. Load schematics in creative mode and clean (in litematica edit mode) it from azalea leaves and most of oak logs, just leave lowest layer of logs for reference and testing of block conveyors, this cleanup will make schematic MUCH easier to read and follow. 2. If you're going to use different building blocks (iron blocks instead of concrete) replace them during schematics cleanup. 3. TNT dupers. I've never seen such type of dupers, they're really cool. To assemble them put target block to the position of extended piston to prevent the block over TNT from powering. TNT will be put to budded state during the next activation cycle. 4. Carefully build central part of the farm where azalea trees will grow, do not forget to put and properly align hopper minecarts. 5. Shroomlights. If you have no nether tree farm gathering of 112 shroomlights may take a long time. Just replace them with glowstone (in the lower, unpowered layer) and jack-o-laterns in the top layer, that powers trapdoors. 6. Assemble and test bonemeal producing modules first, this will allow you to fill up chests, hoppers, droppers and dispencers of the central part of the farm with enought amount of bonemeal. 7. Assemble and test block conveyors and TNT dupers before finishing building of the central part.

This is relatively late, but I just built this. The slime block that moves the stairs next to your two moss blocks has a tendency to push any items that land on top of it. Sometimes, moss carpets or seeds can end up on top of it because of leaves breaking, and they can get launched into your blast chamber, ending up in the shulker loader and break it. There's probably a more elegant fix to this, but I just added a glass "blast shield" to stop the items, which is 7x5 vertically under the 5 columns of oak logs that are going to the blast chamber.

Wonderfully done. I knew it would be possible to create a fully automatic tree farm with azalea trees, but I stopped doing the math once I realized that there would be no way to ensure the bone meal from the azalea trees would be enough to feed back into the system. It hadn't occurred to me to build ilmango's bone meal Moss farm to supplement that (as nether tree farms don't need anything like that). This is wonderfully compact and I'm probably going to build it in my SMP.

3600 logs/hour = 1800 chests/hour. 1 shulker farm produces 523 shells/hour, and so needs 262 chests/hour. 1800/262 = 6.8, so this farm should be able to supply 6 shulker farm modules and have some logs left over, yielding 1569 shulkerboxes/hour, or 26.15 boxes/minute.

I think the weird cycle is due to how water flows. If I recall correctly, water flows every 4 ticks, and I think during its cooldown, it doesn't check for obstacles in its path, only when it spreads. This would mean that since your cycle is 5 ticks, every fourth trigger would have the water spreading the instant the piston is retracted, or something along those lines.
@cubicmetre3 жыл бұрын
Water flows every 5 ticks and the BUD in theory takes 6 ticks to reset, however something weird happens with the block event scheduling and as a result it still responds to the water while it's resetting until after 4 cycles it stops. I'm still not quite sure what is happening.

Thank you for this fantastic farm. I have built it in 1.17.1 survival using the schematic, and it is working great. I am getting 3700+ logs/hour, and there is about a 10 stack/hour bone meal deficit. Adding a few extra chests of bone meal (or adding an additional moss farm) is no problem, if I ever want to run it for a long time. It was fun getting 2no2name's setup budded correctly, but even with my low-level technical ability, I managed to do it. That mechanism is pure genius. The TNT dupers are also amazing, and by watching how Cubicmetre loaded the TNT on this video, I was able to construct them with no mishaps. Cubicmetre, do you have a video explaining these wonderful entity-less dupers? Now I have a pair of Il Mango's super fast moss farms in my spawn chunks, so if I ever want to divert the bone meal to another purpose, it is so easy. When I run this crazy Azalea farm, my base's MSPT goes from 9 to over 20, and my FPS go way down, but it's all good. I look forward to more great, educational videos from my new favorite technical minecrafter. Thank you Cubicmetre, and keep producing high quality videos.
@cubicmetre3 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, the bonemeal deficit is not really an issue here as all that happens is the farm might choke on bonemeal every now and then and slow down slightly. The deficit results in only a 3.7% drop in efficiency for the farm in total which is negilgable.

It was nearly to break the server because of amount of items. I repair farm, run and double check, it was working perfect, no problems for converting moos block to bone meal, no problem for growing Azaleas and no problem for TNT chambers, all good. I leav farm running for next day and go check again and I found that the troughs was full of moss blocks close to outside edges of farm again, farm itself was working correct, it was no deficit of bone meal but there was thousands of an extra moos block in troughs. Why it happen, how to prevent this. It only happen if farm working offline on server because stressing farm in carpet mode for hundreds of hours doesn't reproduce that problem :[

More log pushers requiring a special sequence to handle the orientation of the branches, double or even triple extenders and such. I found a solution that worked for me. its kinda hard to explain in a comment but ill try. "Main line" - redstone line from on switch to each core 1. there is a redstone repeater running from the main line to the non-working core, set to 2delay (was 1) 2. on the non working core, find the note block at the end of the main line, add an observer for delay. (there is already 1) 3. on the working core, add a repeater on 1 delay to the main line, after the note block, but before the piston/dispenser circuit 4. on the non-working core, under the piston/dispenser circuit, there is a line which controls the clock for the lower moss block. add a repeater on 1 delay between the piston/dispenser circuit and the moss circuit. Should work from there

I think the 5-5-5-10 (total 25 ticks) piston update is connect to the water updates they measure 6-6-6-7 (total 25 ticks) with the stair trick creating a moment the pistons are still in motion resulting in skipping a beat if however you change the sticky piston into a regular you get a stable 10-10-10-10 on the entire system. slower but stable. also water updates at 5 ticks creating the unstable situation with the piston updates without the stair trick. so i think if the back system could be faster it will always be ready for the next update. i'll try tommorow to see if i can fiddle around with it.
@cubicmetre3 жыл бұрын
The odd clock cycle doesn't really cause any issues, it's more of a nuance, a 10-10-10-10 cycle might be more elegant but it's also slower. And given the farm is slow to begin with we should take as much speed as we can get.

Can't say I'm smart enough to have the right answer, but my massive egg shaped head might have seen that water thingy a few times in the past. I feel that when the game doesnt have enough time with a non air block in the space where the water will flow, it seems to flow back even faster and with disregard to random tick speed. Especially noticed it early on when messing with a bucket sorter. Perhaps its similar to how you might end up getting lava to spread in an area by spam clicking. Perhaps some form of scheduled update that fails to get removed and executes anyways. Those would be my best guesses. Edit: But your solution is, of course, lovely.

4:54 I guess by now you found out the issue yourself, but anyway. The problem is your bud is 6gt reset and water is flowing every 5gt. So what happens is after the first trigger the reset piston triggers instantly. by the time of the 2nd trigger the reset piston is not fully retrectat, and so starts resetting 1 gt later than the trigger. With each trigger the reset becomes one more gt ofset. After 4 triggers the bud is so far of, that by the time the water flows the piston is not budded yet And that way the contraption stops. To solve this issue you would need to make your bud 5gt reset. This can be easily approached by making the reset piston zerotick. I Think this is the longest comment i ever wrote xD. I hope the explanation was kind of understandable.

4:46 the water flows faster than the system after few cycles. if water should be flowed, it sets a timer and after the timer ends, it checks if the water still can be flowed or not. and if it can, it flows and if its not, it cancels the flow event. but blocking water before the timer ends doesnt remove the already running timer. it will just wait for timer and cancel the event when it ends. however, because it doesnt check if water can be flowed or not while timer is running, the water can be removed and placed again but it will still flows if its done before timer ends. (this can be simply proofed by doing this experiment. put lava on the ground and pick up the lava with bucket and wait few moments and put it back in the same position before the first placed lava's flow timer ends. it will flow faster than normal lava because the timer didn't reset) also, because the water flow time and system cycle time is different, The update detecting piston infront of moss block will eventually finish pulling while water timer is about to end, As a result, the water will flow before the BUD system reset, So the piston cant detect the flow and it will stop the cycle.

works great! only "problem" im having is that sometimes there are seeds/azalea/carpets in the wood shulkers, and is just dont know where they come from. Do you have any idea? Its only like 2-6 items per shulker, so extremely infrequent/random. I mean, the wood goes from the blast chamber straight across and up to the shulker loader, so there is hardly any space where those could fall into the water streams. If it was "only" azalea, i would have thought that some leaves reached far enough, or that they landed on the logs and transported fast enough before they despawn. But its actual seeds and moss carpet too, so either from the bonemeal generators or the center module itself, but then there is NO WAY the items "pop off" and make ALL the way to the blast chamber/collection pool, right? I even added some extra glass over the water stream so they dont glitch over the cornerblocks into the stream, but that didnt help either

Hello! This is perfeect. I built it on a paper server and I have a problem. One side of farm is working perfectly. But second side is not working. It is not growing trees, it just destroys the sapling. It is weird, because both sides are same. I checked it.

how does this work with none dupping? i tried to replace the piston dupe with a dispenser but after a while there are too many treelogs and it just breaks ... what should be the tnt/log ratio when not duping i tried different tickspeeds of the pushing pistons ... but i am not able doing it correctly v.v help please
@cubicmetre2 жыл бұрын
A TnT duper produces the ignited TnT instantly whilst a dispenser has a 4gt delay, so you will need to reduce the delay powering the dispenser by 4gt.
@maffinpower2 жыл бұрын
@@cubicmetre Thanks for the answer, since your design near the tnt is so compact. i just lengthend the signal that pushes the wood by 4 gt... but its not working ?! i dont see why

How about an autosufficient azalea tree farm now? Recycle the moss and stuff to get the bonemeal without any additional farm. I tried it and it was suuuuuper slow. I’d like to see better people build one tho.
@cubicmetre3 жыл бұрын
Yes, every method I could imagine for making the azalea tree farm self sufficient involves slowing it down and making the growth chamber much larger. For this farm I sacrificed the self sufficiency for the fastest possible cycle time. It's all about finding the best compromise to achieve the desired goal.

Is it possible to make one of these that doesnt eat 18k bonemeal/h?

The farm is self sustaining. Meaning you don't need extra bonemeal

You can water log the pistons and seal them up with glass other than in front of the piston, gets stone nearly every time, once in a while the lava falls faster but never any cobble

Hi is the farm outdated?
@soliton43 жыл бұрын
you dont explain why you need to detect the azalea plant in the first place. you can instead just permanently bonemeal the block above the moos. bonemal will only get dispensed when there is an azalea plant present. so i dont get why you went though all this effort
@cubicmetre3 жыл бұрын
This method of detection is much faster and there are plants which grow on moss which accept bonemeal such as grass.
@soliton43 жыл бұрын
@@cubicmetre i do get why you are concerned with wasting bonemeal. but i dont see how it would be faster. when you connect the dispenser to a loop comparitor clock it will grow the tree immediately
@cubicmetre3 жыл бұрын
@@soliton4 There are a few other details which make this method more streamlined, it takes much longer to remove a tree from the growth chamber than it does to directly detect the azalea plant. For example if you just bonemeal the moss block, bonemeal whatever gorws then assume a tree grew and activate the log removal system. The farm is a lot slower than if you can directly detect the azalea plant and ONLY acivate the log removal if a tree has grown. This system has the benefit of not only detecting the plant and bonemealing it. When the tree grows it will immediately detect it and remove the tree using the same mechanism.

@cubicmetre2 жыл бұрын
Yeah this is not much of a tutorial but in fact more of a showcase of the design process and tackling technical challenges. I find tutorials simply not very rewarding for myself or the viewer as you don't really learn anything. My goal is to be able to teach the fundamentals of engineering and problem solving in minecraft instead of just aimlessly placing blocks.
@savzarororororororora2 жыл бұрын
@@cubicmetre I couldn’t figure out how to pulse the dispensers at the correct timing because I wasn’t sure what the exact redstone was, it’s very hard to try to recreate these types of farms on multiplayer paper servers, so figuring out how and why something works is a huge part, just saying add the master bonemeal block and hook it up isn’t very helpful imo
