It is maddening that p bass style pickups don't have a standard size. I've never had a pickguard with the pickup opening actually fit the pickups I had.

I think the j kit had the same problem , only slight though

I had that same frustration on my parts bass where Fender parts just barely don’t fit. I have no idea why you would make a Fender style bass and have it not match up to Fender spec, but I’m glad you were able to make it work!

Only thing it needs is your logo on the headstock. I like the cheap paintjob and a wetsand i did that on my last one and when i sold it. the guy said it was extremely clean, he paid dearly lol 😆

I've been doing parts and kit guitars for a few years, and I've got to say for a first timer it looks like you did a really good job. I've always been warned to stay away from rattle cans (i.e. aerosol spray paint) but your finish really came out nice. Good job!

I also got the PBass kit and am doing shell pink! Great minds think alike!! Looks great man! Still have to paint mine yet and I'm going all out with nitrocellulose lacquer paint. I'm gonna go with the white pickguard. I've got a Custom shop P bass pickup to drop in there and I'm gonna swap out and relic the hardware at some point too

Looking good so far. I'm curious as to how the pick-ups sound that come with it. I keep eyeing doing a kit, but I also want one that's a double P config, but no one makes a pre-made version of that. So I may just have to buy a body blank and hit up a friend at a maker station to use their CNC to do it.

Nice job Patrick, It looked like a fun way to kill a few hours! I like that Thomann saves people time (and frustration) by doing a lot of the pre-drilling. Not a lot of DIY kits drill the bridge holes and that alignment is just so important.

Nice video even if title is misleading. There is a HUGE difference between building something v/s putting something together with parts already completed(kit). Not hating but come on man, you basically used leggos and then saying I painted the Mona Lisa

@@USSLIBERTYREMEMBERER he didn’t even review it..? The whole point of this video is him just building it, we don’t even know how it sounds. By the way, he has other sponsored videos where he criticizes the product. He’s not paid extra money to just say good things, the basses are usually just sent to him so the company can get more exposure from reviews on KZbin
