Made the Amish macaroni salad 3 weeks ago for the first time it was a big hit here, I doubled it, it made a ton, but was not much left. I am a cookbook lover also, have 36 from book sales have not even touched yet, because I keep taking new ones out of the library also. My newest favorite recipe is a very time consuming pizza crust, but I am now spoiled because it is pure perfection, and the only way I want it, but have to plan ahead for this one, but well worth the wait, for me you need the perfect crust, and this is it.

I was so excited to receive your cookbook in the mail the other day. Thank you for taking the time to write such a sweet note. I have been reading it at night after work….I love reading it like a novel too hahaha. I cannot wait to make the Big Mac casserole and pizza burgers. So much I want to make that I think I am going to try one new recipe every week or two. May Let my sons pick a recipe to try so they are involved in choosing dinner on occasion💚 Thanks again! I love watching your cooking videos-it’s very relaxing to me. You have a wonderful family …thank you for sharing your days with us 🥰

I used to get cookbooks from the library all the time too. A helpful hint when making recipes from borrowed books it to cover the book with plastic wrap to keep from accidently making a mess on it. Amish cookbooks have some amazing recipes in them. Peter was so sweet to wanting to make cinnamon rolls for Maria and her friend. He's quite the cook and such a caring young man. As always...Hi Joe!

Jennifer, I see that bananas are 29 cents/ pound at Kwik Trip through September 5th. Maybe you can add that to your shopping if you want bananas. I think I would like to try the macaroni salad. Sounded delicious. I too grew up on miracle whip. Had to have a thick layer on the bread for sandwiches! Now I prefer Hellman’s mayo. I also never liked onions as a child but now love them. I guess tastes change as we age! Thanks for a fun video. Hope you get to take your vacation!

We always have pecans on hand. They definitely are expensive. I've found that the best price for us is at one of the membership clubs (BJs, Costco, etc.). We buy them in big bags and freeze them. As we use them by expiration date, I put them in quart mason jars with the non-canning plastic screw on lids. They last very well that way!

I'm so glad I saw this video! Me and my daughter have been wanting to try these chicken roll ups for several weeks now but I've been a little hesitant because I'm so afraid they'll be all soggy, and I cannot stand soggy dough lol. But maybe I'll do what you did and just cook them longer. As far as new recipes, me and my daughter (who neither one of us are really fish eaters) we found on Pinterest a recipe for lemon garlic salmon and it's absolutely incredibly delicious!! We've had it twice in three weeks lol. And it's very quick to make too (less than 20 minutes). Goes great with green beans and fried potatoes 😁. We're going to be trying some maple glazed salmon tomorrow for her birthday so hopefully we like that just as much.

Everything looked delicious! Not sure about Miracle Whip in the macaroni salad, might use Mayo instead! Love the cake too, I think I’d use my food processor and chop the coconut really fine, as my family won’t eat it unless I do that! I too love trying new cookbooks and recipes! I’m going to be trying the recipes from your cookbook soon! I love the author of this cookbook , my mom loves her books too! I love a lot of Amish and Mennonite recipes! Joe just cracks me up! I love his spirit. All of your children are amazing people. I am making the chicken roll ups (a couple tweeks since I forgot to get cheese 🙂). I sauteed some celery (with leaves) and onion in a little butter and mixed it in with the chicken. Other than that, it stayed the same. Hubs said house smells wonderful and we can't wait to try it. I love your videos and I will make that cake when my folks come down to visit. Have an abundantly blessed day! 🌻🌼
