"Gold takes away the gothness." Girl, SAME. Nothing drives me up a wall faster than when I see gold on anything Halloween or goth. I know some people are into it but I don't think the majority of us are. I only buy stuff like that if I can easily go over the gold with metallic silver paint.

If it's like baroque or something imitation historical that would make sense to have gold accents, I can dig it sometimes, but it has to look right and have a certain degree of subtlety and not that glaring fake gold paint that clashes with everything.

Surprisingly this year The Warehouse in NZ had some great nail polish in little skull bottles and a good set of Halloween glasses, I only got the bat one though. It really sucks we can't get good stuff here. A few years ago I bought loads of the decorating gauze, I was supposed to use it for my wedding reception but that didn't end up happening, so this year I made a dress out of it. Worked really well and I wasn't expecting that.

I’ve felt the opposite, I work in retail and have to deal with the public all day so today I made a pork loin soup with a ton a vegetables and cajun seasoning with a beef stock in a crockpot and sat inside all day 😂

I wonder why they brought out Halloween early, they did the same thing here. not complaining and I sure hope they do it again next year. our local fabric craft store had some Halloween goodies. I wish it were a real one but they had a skelleton sewing machine and it spoke and sang to you while a sewing sound was playing. Had it actually been able to sew I would of bought it. But I couldn't say no to a haunted squishmellow plushie of a cupcake with an eyebrow for a cherry. and a skeletal owl plushie

I would have bought the dishes that had the candles in them, and melted the candle out to use the dish for whatever my heart desires. I really did like the rice bowl though. Just the right size! (Truthfully, the dishes with the candles have to be really cute for me to want to get them and get rid of the wax so I can use them. And I do mean really cute.) Also hugs to you and your wee one. But mostly you, I remember that loneliness.

I’d love to go Halloween shopping with you! Halloween ain’t over for us goths! It’s a lifestyle 🎃 Here in Texas we got TJ Maxx and Ross and Marshall’s and HomeSense. I swear they got some of the best Halloween decor money could buy, especially HomeSense with their cute witch dolls and one time I even saw a tarot card/fortune teller stand for sell there.

I actually Love gold on black!! even if silver or black is also amazing. I think it gives regal and fancy vibes. my style can often veer into victorian goth territory (although most days I'm more trad goth. but I do have sone really cool victorian goth pieces, I wish I had more but they're often real expensive). gold accents in a victorian goth outfit is sooooo cool to me. although I don't like it in my jewlery most times, I usually go for silver or gunmetal. but otherwise I love black and a hint of gold. although I prefer more of a champagne gold, soooometimes a more orange ish red gold if its on the right thing. but straight bright yellow gold is ugly to me, like that gold on the spider vase thing, didn't like that lol. loved the plates though!
