Greetings from a New Yorker in London! I have 2 T1’s (was one of the first to purchase). From one synth dad to another, I thank you for clearest explanation of the T1’s use with modular (just bought a black and gold shared system). It would be great if you could do another video with more advanced applications. Gratitude and respect ! Joe

Hi Joe and thank you! I’ve sold my T1 since making this video as I found myself using the Oxi One more and more so I’ve no more videos planned on it unfortunately

Great video! I learned a few things. FYI, you don't have to push down on the knobs to adjust parameters. You only need to push if you want to see the changes.
@SynthDad3 жыл бұрын
Ah yes that's right. Though on a video I need to show the changes happening hence the push.

Awesome sequencer! If I add random modulation to a parameter it randomize just one time or does it keep changing?
@SynthDad2 жыл бұрын
The randomisation cycles independently of the parameter it is randomising. But it will randomise the parameter constantly until you turn it of.
@kostisvАй бұрын
Great vid! You could theoreticaly do the same with T-1 and VCV rack?
@SynthDadАй бұрын
Yes definitely - just send MIDI from the T-1 into VCVrack and have fun!

Can I eliminate the latency if I sync T1 with ableton over clck in using CV tools?
@SynthDad10 ай бұрын
That's probably the best approach, but latency will always exist, it's just physics

Hi nice vid ,do you know if the midi out will involve any configurations on the torsos end for a drum machine or will it work by plug and play.. thanks
@SynthDad2 жыл бұрын
That depends on how the drum machine receives MIDI. Some units will use a different MIDI channel for each sample lane (kick, snare, hat etc) so the note sent doesn’t matter. In that case it’s easy to set up each channel on the Torso. Other units will use the same MIDI channel for all sample but a different note number (Volca Sample is like this). So it’s a matter of figuring out your drum machine’s MIDI map and then configuring the T-1.

I know they are very different beasts but, in your opinion and if you only had cash for one of them, which one between the Torso and OXI One is the more fun, musical and playable sequencer, and ultimately you would buy?
@SynthDad2 жыл бұрын
Oh wow that is a tough question. They approach creating music very differently; Torso T-1 is a knob-per-function device where you can control it, but it takes control of the melody and notes. So if you like creating happy accidents the T-1 is great for that, but harder to build those ‘accidents’ into longer compositions. The Oxi One does allow you to generate melodies randomly and also can create these ‘happy accidents’ but it takes some menu-diving or mode switching. However the Oxi One also gives you more control to chain those melodies (i.e. patterns) into compositions and play them in a more structured way. Hope that helps to answer your question
@EdoardoMarcora2 жыл бұрын
@@SynthDad thanks for your feedback. I am actually very curious about which one YOU would buy if you could only buy one (which is my situation).

@kalubandali22412 жыл бұрын
do you prefer the t1 or oxi one?
@SynthDad2 жыл бұрын
Tough question! The T-1 is great for hands-on live performance as it is very knob-per-function oriented. But if you want to make songs or build standard grid-beats it’s not ideal. Oxi One is great for composing songs and building more complex performances, but a bit harder to play live with. So it depends on what you use them for

I saw Elevator had them coming in again. I don't have a BSP so can't give a good comparison, but I think it packs a lot of functionality into a very small space. And it has 16 tracks and multiple patterns, so you an build a whole song on it

Overpriced piece of gear. Get a Korg SQ-64 + QUbit Bloom for the same price !
@SynthDad3 жыл бұрын
That's one way of looking at it. On the other hand it gives hands-on playability and is knob-per-function. And it doesn't take up any hp in your rack. Do you have a SQ-64?
