No - there aren't; this is a Pandemic thing. But you do add additional crystals of course. Thanks for your comment!

I remember to win it once, but it was a 5-player-game with some of the suggested tweaks, so I am not sure if that really counts...

I love/hate Defenders. I wish I had gotten the KS with all the bits but all I have is the base game and I think the extra mission cards. Just feels…. Basic? I dunno I think I need more heroes! Great game regardless, just wish I had more of an urge to bring it out!

I also started with the base game, which - I believe - I got as a birthday gift from my parents. But started to add more stuff soon after it and I agree the extra quests are must-haves for me. Extra heroes are certainly nice and force a different play style each time you play, but of course make the game even more swingy ;-)

I wish they would reprint this. For the life of me, I cannot understand why the publisher’s website has everything else for the game except the base game. Makes no sense.

Thanks and yeah, it seems a bit weird, but ultimately it may be down to having too much expansion stuff in stock compared to how the game sold (so it seems at least). Definitely a bummer though; wasn't actually aware it's out of print...

"Defenders of the Realm" is from 2010 ;-) And there is a game that is actually called "Beer & Bread" (2022) - but I still don't see the connection ;-)
