This is amazingly useful. So far I have on three occasions previewed this before giving my demo. Hate to do this but if I may humbly point out a couple of rules issues. Sorry to be lawyer but this will affect a great many new players. 6:55 All attacks have range (Rg:#) some have modifiers, (Claws or Projectiles) 6:59 "if it has nothing it is not an attack" All actions listed under 'Attack Actions are attack actions. 7:04: Claws denote "close attack" not melee, you can have claws next to any attack, even Ca. All attacks have stats, (Ml, Ca, Sh, Wp) some attacks might have a close attack 7:05 "if its a gun it's a shooting attack" the gun symbol denotes "Projectile" , Sh: denotes a shooting action

Someone in a Deep Madness Forum made a comment about Malifaux and now here I am. Very interesting game and mechanics - though no one to play skirmishes with. Host was a bit of a fast-talker, but followed along pretty good and understood. Looking forward to the rest of the parts. Cheers

Thank you, this is fantastic! I'm going to suggest this to all of my new players. A couple of rules issues. Sorry to be nitpicky, but this is a how to play video. :) About 29 minutes in - Grimwell is engaged by Bloodwretch. Anytime a model engages a model they are also engaged by that model. You are correct the wretch will not get a diengaging strike because Grimwell would not be leaving the Wretches engagement range. But they are both considered engaged so Grimwell would not be able to charge for instance. See pg 48 of the small rulebook. About 36 minutes in - You cannot cheat if a Red Joker was flipped.

+MrDeathTrout I should have caught the first one. :) The QuickStart rules isn't thorough about Jokers, so I just covered what was there. In fact in hindsight they don't even do First+Last or prevent all damage in the QuickStart booklet that I could find, we just added that part naturally lol. You are of course correct.

One thing which was missed in this video altogether is that you can cheat fate on damage rolls. It seemed like there were times when you would want to do it, but it never was brought up.

matthewwizardify Because they played the way the minicampaignbooklet introduces the rules, and cheating gets introduced very late (I think Scenario 4 or something of 5)

Hey Ash would you recommend this or This is Not a Test? My friends and I already play Age of Sigmar, so we arent new to miniature war gaming. I just can't decide which of the two I like better and was wondering which you find more fun.

First of all thanks for the great videos. I am just about to start getting into Malifaux and this is just what I needed. Second, where do you get you awesome terrain like the miniature barrels and crates in part one or the fence in part two? Also does anyone else make anything like the Ex Illis tiles that you use in part two, as you said they were oop?

Justin at Secret Weapon miniatures makes similar style tiles. They're on sale on Miniature Market right now. The barrels are by Pegasus Hobbies, which I repainted. :)

The thing I hate most about miniature gaming is how everything is fudged. A half inch short? No problems. We'll just cheat.

different people look for different things from a game. some people like competitive crunch others prefer light storytelling or some mix of the two. if you have a problem with people fudging then it sounds like you didn't properly communicate what you were looking for with the other people your playing with.
