"Reboot" wow, never stops to amaze me that people believe that. It continues where 3 left off. Greece no longer has a pantheon and Kratos moves on. The scars, the things he talks about are all apart of his past. The scene in Helheim where he fights Zeus is taken directly from God of War 3. Never call it a Reboot again. Learn something new every day

I mean it is sort of a soft reboot. I guess the better term would be like a rebrand. Gone are the days where Kratos is angry basically 24/7. the gameplay is also quite different. The fact that GoW 2018 is not technically titled GoW 4 could signify it as a reboot. Also that GoW 2018 can work as a standalone game (although not as good as knowing Kratos’s background) I think invites the term reboot. So if someone wants to call it a reboot I’m okay with that.

At 20 minutes... Was that Ares in the floor? It looked a lot like him. Also, a bit of Greek trivia: Gaia is depicted here as one of the Titans, but in the myths she was one of the primordial entities who preceded them, along with Erebos, Tartaros, Nyx, and Ouranos (though in some versions they're her offspring, not siblings), among others. In the myths, she also wasn't so much a representation of the Earth either - she WAS the Earth.

Gaia is not titan in gow as well she is just well wisher of titans ,she supported cronos her son against the fight with her husband ouranos and protected zeus initially from wrath of cronos She is pissed off on zeus because zeus punished all titans because of evil deeds on his brothers and him by only one titan cronos including herself therefore wanted revenge

They are the wings of Icarus. Kratos took them in second game, along with the Golden Fleece while on the quest to bend the Sisters of Fate to his will. He needed the Sisters of Fate in order to go back in time to the end of the war between the God's and the Titan's in order to bring the Titan's forward in time in order to ally with him in destroying The God's of Olympus. All of this happened during the second game which was directed by Cory Barlog. Cory also wrote the story outline for Ghost of Sparta (during which Kratos finds his brother - from whom Kratos modelled his tattoo's) & this game - as well as some work on Chains of Olympus and the first game as an Art Director who was part of the story team.

Just to answer some questions cuz I'm a massive GoW nerd: Corey was the lead animator on God of War 1 (I think) and he directed God of War 2. He left Santa Monica Studios after 2 though so he didnt work on 3 or Ascension. Also, the guy under the ice was the body of Ares -- that room is his mausoleum after Kratos killed him in GoW1. Dope that yall are playing this classic! Easily one of my top 5 games of all time, I still don't think a game has surpassed GoW3 in terms of scale and overall epicness to this day

@@M-E_123 i really loved god of war ascension i don't get why so many people hated it, the only thing it is bad for is where the story takes place, god of war has never been a really big story game anyway (i mean the past game not the new one), now i get why people hate the last of us part 2 is becuase it was a story game but god od war had always been about epic action and cinematics and great hack and slash combat and also shiny graphics, god of war ascension did all of that plus the story was really great except it was just set in the past, it delivered everything i loved about the games, i think for someone who has a atreus tattos should defently play the trilogy, but psp and ascension would be also great for more story content

This was great fun to watch! Sassy Zoe and Angry Kratos makes for a fabulous combination. Quarantining makes everything hard, but a chill-ish livestream of Zoe playing some of the 2018 God of War would be pretty rad to watch. One of my favorite things to watch is people playing games they absolutely love, it just shines through and it's super sweet to watch someone just loving what they're playing!

Played the originals and this one 3, any time my youngest son was stuck I was asked to kill the boss or whatever he was struggling with, now he's nineteen and I have to ask him for help... love the full circle. I finished in easy and normal, will be trying hard when I next get the time.

Cory Barlog was the art director for the first two games, then left (didn't work on god of war 3) for crystal dynamics to make the tomb raider reboots. then came back to santa monica for god of war 2018 (sequel not a reboot).

apollo has only been mentioned and also gow ascension is like 2-3 hours in apollo giant statue, you also get his bow in this game... the guy in the chariot is helios, you also save helios from queen of the underworld [hades wife (forced wife anyway)], and atlas the titan in god of war chains od olympus, which takes place after gow ascension and before gow 2005

I remember playing this with a friend of mine...it was such an awesome experience, but at times like just the fight against Poseidon I really struggled with the brutality of Kratos, as it felt somehow darker than the games before that, although I guess there's not that much difference to the overall theme . I really wished this would not be an exclusive to the PlayStation :D Ah, and regarding "blocking is for cowards": especially on harder difficulty levels it becomes essential :)

GOW 3 is One of my favorite games of all Time and has a unique ( to me) Beautiful Art style plus amazing Action and Combat! Go ahead and finish the Story of the Game!

Well it's not a reboot in the traditional term and there was a concept for a nordic God of War before, but it did put a whole new way and many new mechanics onto the gameplay, that's why I used the term reboot. It did attract a lot of new players to the series too

I like the agressive Kratos much more as the adult and "Role Model" Kratos in 2018. In GoW 2 you kicking boars through the air! That was so much fun! :D And in 2018, the magical lighting Boar is a little bit deadly hurt by a mistake because of Kratos´ annoying son... Then you bring the magic pig through the magic forest to the magic witch's magic house, which stands on a magic turtle...
