Best star wars game is TIE Fighter. Once you get passed the guilt associated with killing X-Wing and A-Wing pilots, you'll find yourself shouting, "Die Rebel Scum" with glee as you viscerally pound their shields down with your ion cannons before switching to lasers to blow them sky high. But what really made the game enjoyable was the plotline, which centered around an attempted coup within the Empire, and your character's induction into the spy network that in my head canon was the Emperor's Hand. It was legitimately a great flight simulator. AFAIK it was PC only, and while you could use a keyboard, you don't get the full flight simulator experience unless you have a PC joystick with several thumb buttons in addition to the trigger (to adjust shields and cycle through targets), and a slide lever that let's you control your engine speed. It's a DOS game, so it takes some work to get a virtual machine or emulator working well with your joystick. It was preceded by X-Wing which was in comparison (same type of games, just an order of magnitude less sophisticated) and followed by X-Wing vs TIE Fighter, which was pretty good but didn't have the same epic feeling that the Imperial Coup storyline provided. There was an episode 1 game called Jedi Starfighter that had a similar and fairly satisfying flight simulator feeling. I played it on PS2, and suddenly have the urge to dig it out to play again.

A "Dark Forces" Late to the Party? YES PLEASE! Great game. The sequel, Jedi Knight, was also a great game. And the sequel to that, Jedi Outcast was the best of them all (though maybe not the best for LTTP, because it takes a bit of play before you get the light saber, and that's the best thing about the game). Especially if you enable g_saberrealisticcombat. :D Jedi Academy was also pretty decent, but unfortunately, they disabled all of the dismemberment. :( I'd really be happy to see Johnny play these. :)

11:20 resonated with me. This is one of those stories that needs some context, so, oh boy, strap in. I'm a Geordie who's lived down south for years now. One of my (all too) rare forays up to my hometown happened during the whole Raoul Moat thing. I was in a country pub in South Tyneside when all of a sudden a lad from the other side of the bar who was watching the tele as the whole shit show unraveled in the corner suddenly piped up with "GAZZA'S SHOWN UP" and it was like someone had dropped the bomb. Dead silence, landlord had the volume on full, the works. It was the most surreal moment in my life, and I'm not sure I'll ever forget it.

Bit rude of the game to keep reminding you that you're a POS.. When it comes to the prequels, I really can't blame the actors for any of it. They should have grown a spine & said no to George's directions to act like they were spaced out on ketamine, but there is a chance the script made them have to genuinely space out on ketamine just to get through it too.

I know im over reaching. But if EA still have some creativity left in them, EA could make a star wars podracer game developed by the need for speed team with the story being a need for speed in space with bounty hunters, republic/empire and jedi/sith elements put in it.
@marhawkman3035 жыл бұрын
Honestly, with the way the SW universe works, the idea of a NASCAR equivalent that's a multi-system entity with thousands of competitors on dozens of tracks is completely believable. You could even have it with multiple divisions so that pod racing is simply the low-budget bush leagues, and the top tier competition has you flying small space ships through asteroid fields while hoping you don't end up like those TIE fighters in Episode 4. :p

Feel so bad for Jake Loyd. He was a kid who was told lines to say to a camera and the Star Wars fans were ruthless to him. I mean blame the script writer, the Director or even the casting agent but a nine year old boy is fair game because you didn't like the movie? Is it any wonder the boy grew up angry and is mentally adled? I'm not saying his condition is solely because of Star Wars but it certainly played a part. People are so willing to forgive Hayden, who in my opinion was the worse of the two actors especially in AotC, but the nine year old should be publicly bullied because people are angry about a movie with laser swords and magic powers. So brave.

It was black and the laser blade was sword/knife shaped. Plus, since it is black, it would be sealthly when sneaking or harder for your enemy to track the blade's movement while your in a duel.

This game reminds me a lot of Hydro Thunder, but simpler and with a career mode where you upgrade. That said... It reminds me of Hydro Thunder because that game's course layouts are permanently etched into my brain. I wonder how much fun this would be with a racing seat setup? Also I wonder how you'd rig the controls, since it kinda has three forms of steering. Maybe dual joysticks? I played several mech combat games back in the day that used dual-stick setups and were great.
