For me, this campaign just drags on too much at the same time and instead of being challenging, it just becomes unfun. I just abandoned it when I played years ago. Kudos to you for still sticking with it.

Nice Session. It's always a mess with the orcs as enemies when it gets dark. With the elvish healers I usally try to slow an enemy unit and try to get it with another unit or trying to keep retailiation damage low. In forest areas that works quite well. A forest ist better than a castle for the elves, as are high mountains for the dwarves. Keeping a clean line is important to reduce the number of units that can attack in their turn. The old lich is a monster in the night as well, as long as the enemies don't too much crushing damage. Keeping him in a high defense place next to more open terrain is nice as well. Ranged Attackers will be crushed, while melee units have a good chance to heal him. :D

Yeah slowing is super nice, I just wish orcs had worse defence in forests as failing the series of 50%s can be punishing.

@@elivaras Best case is elf in the forest or ottjer high defense and the enemy on bad defense terrain. The shyde is good at that as well as she's many slow attacks. I use that to advance lowlevel units. You can take out a yeti with enough shamans. The tougher ones could survive two hits of a slowed one. As soon as they're hurt you've to cycle. Even just the slow attempts may level up some of them as they need not that much xp. Deploying them in mass gives nice results as long as the terrain is favorable and leveled up they are not just good healers. Slowing enemies to lower their damage prevents damage, that's sometimes even better. The variant in UTBS are even nastie leveled up. The weak healing variant do plenty of damage and you can swarm any opponent with devastating effect. The max level variants can fly which makes them fast in most terrains and they have 50% defense or more in most terrains. Generally I start with using the debuff attack and switch to the damaging one thereafter. With some planing they're quite useful to level up other units. The firstlevel units are weak, but as long as the terrain gives good defense they will level up soon, and after that they can hit hard or debuff quite nicely. The healers are nice if paired up as they keep each other healthy and you can put injured units next to them as well. As long as they not get surrounded they do fine. If a unit is hurt you can always use them as passive healers until they're healed again.

Nice Episode as usual!

Man that was a massacre! Very nicely done and quick too, definitely wasn't expecting such a swift victory. However, I do feel you brought in a little too many units in all 3 of your armies. If you noticed, you'll see a lot of your back-runners were just fiddling around behind the frontline not doing much (rather, in the north and east, they seemed to occupy hexes that other units could've retreated to). Sizing down a bit would've helped in saving gold and targeting the enemy flanks better. But hey, I suppose the hoards of heavy hitters did allow you to run down on the orcs and finish quicker, and all's well that ends well, as they say. Now onto the final level and it'll be massive! P.S. RIP to the fallen comrade, Akai the Dwarfish Lord.

I wasn't expecting it either! And yeah, I realized that after. Didn't quite see the scale of what I'd be able to bring to the table. Oh well, I'm glad I cut it off when I did at least.

Unfortunated elves that in 60% defense can't dogged a 20% defense orc

Hey! I binged this series over the past week or so, and i see 2 videos are hidden. Is that because the last ep’s are hidden or are they not out yet?
@elivaras Жыл бұрын
Not out yet! Hidden probably means they were uploads that had issues and I had to take down and reupload.

I wonder if Hidel's death is scripted or if you can save him, for exemple by beating the last scenario in fewer turns. That'd be cool I think but i'm quasi sure he's supposed to die anyway.
@AndreasZeitzFehse Жыл бұрын
Hidel's death is scripted. I read the sourcecode :)

@@AndreasZeitzFehse Thanks for the confirmation. It'd have been a neat secret though.

@@ShiryuCain The campaigns are made in a formatted textfile format, where everything is scripted and configured. It's not that bad to read, and there's docu for that as well. It's made to allow you to make own campaigns yourself :) As usual reading is easier and selfmade stuff needs proper balancing. which is the hardest part apart from a nice storyline.
