But first... What am I drinking???
From Ratchet Brewing (Silverton, OR) comes the Motto Floozy, a 5.6% Blonde Ale that more closely tastes like beer than the 'Beer that tastes like beer' from a while back. Cold, crisp, refreshing.

Tip from a model maker. Super glue releases when frozen. So when a mistake was made, pop the part in the freezer for a hour and it should break loose with no damage.

Couple of suggestions. I would have used magnets to hold on the top of the case, use a rgb strip on where the disk drive would be so that it glows out of the vent holes and disc slot. All I can think of right now.

My Comment is already late im sure this build is done if you have the old GPU fan or extra connectors you can soder the wires to old GPU fan connector you will loose PWM but the card will control the fan, i did the same for my custom cooled 6900xt where i took the mini something pwm GPU fan connector into a regular Male PWM connector to hook a 120mm noctua fan to the GPU

I can't believe how well that I/O shield matches up in height with the X1S chassis, that PC is going to look sooo good! Also, it's kind of ironic how the X1S was the first Xbox revision since the OG Xbox to not have an external power supply and now you have to use one haha

I'd have 3d printed some screwposts (with inserts), glued them into the corners on the underside of the top cover. Then drill out some holes for screws in the bottom and assemble. And also cover the holes with felt or rubber feets for that clean look.. No visible alteration to the case on the exterior that way. :) Neat project this Btw.. Casemods are always fun

Why the GPU... What would i do: 1: Buy a Xbox One S case or a broken Xbox One S. 2: Prepare the case just like u did. 3: Buy this MB: ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming-ITX/TB3 4: Buy 5700G + 32GB Dual Channel 3600MT/s DDR4 + Fast and Big M.2 NVMe SSD 5: Buy a small PSU that will fit inside the case using the rest of the space 6: 3D print rear panel 7: Make frontal USB and buttons work 8: Finish the build and install Windows Now u have the coolest Xbox One S, 8C Zen3 CPU, 32 GB fast RAM, big and fast storage, decent GPU, internal PSU. And if really need more GPU performance u can connect a big GPU using the MB thunderbolt.

Excellent fun little video. Seeing fun case mods always takes me back doing that back in the early 00's with my gaming buddies. One question why use superglue? Why not 5 or even 15 minute epoxy? It should be just as strong and have a longer pot life to give you plenty of time to get your mounting position exact.
@jothain
@jothain 2 жыл бұрын
My thought exactly. I do mechanic stuff, like repairs on industry and sometimes I need to glue something. For that I have like Würth kit that has 1min, 5min and 15min glues and it even includes extra mesh for reinforcement if wanted. Those two compound epoxies that will stuck insanely hard. They're actually better than super glues in many cases.

The interesting part is that if you take one more year to finish it, it could potentially be already outdated: Benchmarks for the APU part of the 6900hs on laptops place it on the same performance as the 1650m (As in the mobile version of the gpu) already so I expect similar performance by the end of the year with Ryzen 6000 APUs (Well *if* they come out this year too and they might not as it took the 5600g and 5700g several extra months to hit the market) This means that eventually, you could just end up being able to use a 6600g and ddr5 and having the same performance as this rig or better. So you might want to speed up the finishing of this build just a tad

One concern i have is the orinetation of the fins on the cpu cooler, they appear to just butt up against the rear IO shield and the ram, is there enough room for exhaust? Can you rotate it 90 degrees so the air comes out the top andbottom of the mainboard instead?
