Cute project! I probably would use the ground walnut shells/lizard litter because they help keep the pins sharp. If you fill them only with that then they can be used as pattern weights when cutting out garment patterns. I have some of those needles only they're longer - not my favorite, but likely because they're long and find my fingers or hand too easily!

The majic pins changed my world when quilting. I was hesitant at first on buying the different sizes, but they've more than proved them selves. 😃

I’m loving them! They’re on the pricier side, so I was hesitant, but I love them 🙌🏻

You can never have too many pin cushions! I have a few magnetic pin dishes and a few I made and stuffed with poly-fil. I also made some similar triangular one to use as pattern weights that I stuffed with poly-pellets. Thanks for the tutorial! Love your channel!!!

I have quite the obsession with pin cushions. I've made the triangle chicken pincushion, ones with tea cups, and EPP ones as well. I have been wanting to try the magic pins, guess I'll need to make another pin cushion! I'm not sure where you order from, but I purchase a lot of my sewing supplies through wawak. I find they almost always have the best prices.

Very cute. Quick little functional project, and a great tutorial on sewing crisp corners. Poly pellets are my go-to for weighted bases, but there are obviously many options, rice being an economical one. 😊

Cute, I thought it was a chicken at first! I bought the magic pins at my local quilt shop and got the bigger flat head ones because I can't feel the round ball heads i have.

If you have a sewing machine that does small lettering, you could stitch the needle/pin size near the base of each side to help with organization. Of course, you would need to do this before stitching the pieces together.

Love this project. IMO rice might not be a great choice for those of us in high humidity areas. But lots of options for filling.

The pin heads are silicone, so they’re heat resistant.
