Glad your foot is ok, I like the tree where it is and great job decorating. I wouldn't worry about what you spent on decor, it's your first year there so naturally you'd have to start a collection, next year you won't have to get as much, just a few things if you want to change it out a bit but you've got your base decor now. My tree is filled with ornaments I've collected for years ( as well as all the ones the kids made in school lol it's a sight!) Don't forget to get good storage containers for it all now.

Clancy, I loved watching you decorated for Christmas. It looks so beautiful! I love the staircase garland. Might I suggest adding some pops of red to the tree to tie in the other pops of red. I am so sorry you were injured with the ceramic Christmas trees. I bet that hurt! Also, you kept saying Home Depot, and I think you meant Hobby Lobby. Lol. I was getting so confused. So fun! I recommend getting decoration bins with red/green lids to help organize all of your new decor! I have orange ones for halloween/fall, and then plain ones for winter clothes/summer clothes. It seems over the top, but it really helps once you get more decor!

I appreciate you mentioning that you don’t have to go all out and spend tons of money to enjoy Christmas and enjoy your decorations! I live in a one bedroom apt and I just got a little 4ft tall Christmas tree and cheap ornaments from the dollar store and it’s a beautiful addition to the space! I turn out the lights and turn on my Christmas tree lights and fairy lights, then light a candle and it’s the coziest vibes ever! Super simple!

I’m not sure people have to make such a fuss when others decorate “too early” for them. It’s a personal choice. Do what makes you happy. Life is too short. Clancy, you did great!! You always underestimate your skills. I couldn’t really tell what was holding up the stockings, but they do make stocking holders for mantles that won’t cause damage. Also, remember that all Christmas decor goes half price after Christmas. I find that’s the best way to add to your collection. Glad the foot is not broken and hope you have been enjoying your warm sunny honeymoon. 😊

Love your outfits! You’re slaying it! 💪🏼💃 We’re in the UK, we also have a Balsam Hill tree that I love. The problem is, we normally have about 7 trees in total, and most rooms have some sort of decoration. It’s takes about 10 hours to decorate. And stupidly, when we adopted our son, I decided that our elf Buddy would decorate the house as a surprise for all of us. So it’s a military operation to get it all done whilst he out of the house, then I deserve an Oscar for my acting skills of surprise, especially when I’m as fraught and tired as I am after a full day of Christmas decorating. That’s after days of cleaning too! But I wouldn’t change a thing to see the look of sheer happiness on his face when he sees that ‘Buddy’ has been. He’s only got a few more years of believing, so I’m absorbing every last ounce of it. Sending festive greetings to you and yours x

Some advice for staging bookshelves, you want to group things in groups of three and in a triangle shape (any type of triangle). Essentially, you don't want two items that are the same heights next to each other. For scale, you want your items in your groups of 3 to be different sizes. Also, cluster your items to the left corner, right corner, center. I like one shelf to have a cluster of items in the left corner, another in the right corner, and the next shelf have a cluster only in the middle.

One yea, I was decorating for Christmas the day before Thanksgiving and had a small pair of antlers fall from the top of a bookshelf directly onto my face (I looked up when I noticed something was falling). Fortunately, my nose didn't break and I had no concussion, but I had perfectly symmetrical black eyes for Thanksgiving and for several weeks after. I looked like a raccoon. Omg, Clancy! I hope your foot is ok!!! Terrible timing right before your honeymoon 😮 Remember, it is a lot easier to replace a knickknack than it is body parts! 😂 While it is too early for me to start decorating (I like to get through Thanksgiving first), I do appreciate the ideas and forethought that goes into the whole planning, shopping, ordering, etc. Your home looks very festive and ready for Christmas.
