I am sat outside on a warm sunny morning in my field surrounded by bird song and a little traffic noise . I suffered perimenopause depression for many years at 58 they put me on hrt and literally overnight I was so much better . Empty nest is just about here after bringing up 5 children and my mother who lived with us sadly died . But now I am more excited what life may bring while I am still fit at 62 yrs young Liz thank you for making me realise I am not mad or alone in this .

I have started thinking in the garden more as it takes my mind off my worrying thoughts and also I strongly believe having a cosy and lovely environment is so important to mental health as well. After moving into a dark depressing house and losing my father and beloved dog all within a few weeks I hit bottom but am slowly getting better, but always feel better when I can make improvements in the house.

My son bought me your latest book (on my suggestion) for my birthday recently & dipping in & out of it, looks like it's an interesting read 😊 i have been on HRT for a few years now & feel so much better within myself. I need to deal with my increased weight gain now as this is proving to be quite debilitating (pain in ankles & feet) 4.5 stone needs to go so that is my next goal over the next 12 months. Breaking it down into smaller chunks, 7lbs at a time, that's the key, but I feel confident that I can & will do this especially with the help of your book Liz & your inspirational Wellbeing channel......thank you ❤ xx

It's not feeling any omph! For anything. Things that made you excited just doesn't do it at the moment. I'd rather just stay around familiar people and home as it feels safe and comfortable when our.bodies feel anything but! 4:46

I’ve been low in mood my whole life. I just started therapy and see if it helps. I’ve been fit and healthy most of my life but now in this stage of life I’m taking anti-depressants, I have three separate inflammatory related conditions which leave me feeling very debilitated. I’m reluctant to take HRT for my own reasons but I agree wholeheartedly that we need to take charge and find a solution for ourselves.

Great conversation liz. Just finished your book and tweaked a few things in my routine. I do yoga every day but have forced myself back to the gym to do pump classes as well. Been on hrt for 10 years and intend to be buried in my patch. Pink really suits you by the way.

Hi Liz, I know you are very pro taking hormones, but I just wonder why nature would get it so wrong?, I'm weighing out the pros and cons for myself and as someone who usually follows the natural path, I can't help but wonder why it wouldn't be healthier to just go through the natural process? NB I have just got your book but haven't got into it yet.

If you do not have bad symptoms you may not need hrt. Hrt is based on science as well. There are many studies that prove that it is of great benefit to women with symptoms which can lead to many health problems and that there is really no one size fits all approach :*)

I've always gone down the natural way but even with the help of my nutritional therapist and good supplements I just couldn't overcome how I felt. I felt I needed to try hrt. It wasn't easy getting it over to the GPs at over 60. They thought I was too old. I feel a lot better than I did and am not convinced I'll ever feel as I once did. Good luck .

@@kimthom5793 TY:*) Davina McCall really has a lot to say about hormones. She struggled terribly. Yes it is hard to feel as we once did as hrt is a tiny, tiny, drop from what we made premenopause. Lifestyle, nutrition, exercise and key supplements help as well. Not easy being a women at times.

I think it is because we are living longer .... way back we would be dead by 45yrs when we were no longer able to get pregnant....we would be no use to the world/ nature

Sadly, not everyone can take hormones. I couldn't and my daughter had a stroke so she can't. Can we hear about alternatives. Love your topics!

Wonderful video Liz! I am just transitioning from a estradiol patch to the gel. I was having trouble with the patch strength dropping as each day went by. I wanted more a consistent dose every day so opted to try the gel. Did you have to experiment a bit to get it right? That is what I am in the process of now. I have a coil for progesterone as I could not tolerate oral progesterone. I do use a micronized cream that works well for me. TY Liz. I had every symptom of my drop in estrogen and it was quite debilitating to say the least. Hrt has been wonderful for me. I am 63 and have been on hrt since 51!

I started HRT 6 weeks ago. Before that I was on the Dianette since I was 15, for symptoms I now know were related to PCOS. It is the strongest oral combined contraceptive pill out there. I switched to HRT due to issues with my carotid artery. Right now, I'm feeling flat, very tired and I find it hard to find the motivation to do things and I just want to eat comfort foods all the time to feel better. And my brain fog has gotten worse. I know I have to give 3 to 6 months before I can really evaluate the HRT and dose, though I feel it's more the withdrawal from the high amount of hormones I was getting from the Dianette. I just hope I will feel better soon, because this is a lot. I have the estradiol gel. I really hope it that will work out for me, because I can't use a patch, due to dermographia.
