I wish you the very best, Kelly, with your surgery. Praying that all will go well as expected. Slow and sure wins the race. Fascinating surgery, though.

I wish you the best of luck on your surgery! Hopefully your balance will be like mine, I was so used to being off balance / vertigo, that when I had my balance nerve removed I was not worse thankfully. I was back to work after 2 weeks of having brain surgery. I did have some complications with the spinal fluid leak but it was quickly corrected and I do not remember much. My surgery was 7am - 730pm. Be very patient with yourself, I wished I had not went back to work so soon and processed my new self. You got this and we are all here for you! Hugs!!

That would be wonderful if it is not worse for me as well! Wow 2 weeks! That is the fastest I've heard! I'm glad the spinal fluid leak was corrected quickly for you. Thanks for telling me about the length of surgery. It's good to be able give my loved ones a heads up that it's gonna be much longer than 6 hours for example. Thank you so much! Hugs back!

Wishing you all the best. Have followed you fro quite a while and really wanna see you feeling better with your Meniere's. I have it too but mild so far. Hope it stays that way because I am a big coward when it comes to surgeries! lol
@IncredibleAnyway

Thank you! I think you started following me in 2020-ish, right? Unless my memory is wrong. Your screen name is easy to remember! I love see your comments. I'm so glad your Meniere's is mild and I will pray it stays that way. Most people have really good luck with Gentamicin injections and never need surgery, so if it does get worse for you, there are non-surgery options! 💜

@@IncredibleAnyway Haha yes that name seems to be remembered! One mad minute of picking a name and here we are! :D I am not sure when I started following tbh. I expect that it right. I think YT randomly showed me a video of you upset after a breakup and I stuck around after that in the hope that your life improved and it did! Yay! Thank you for your kind words and hopeful info. xx

Oh, Kelly, I do not have Instagram. If possible, please, please encourage your friend to post a little something on KZbin every now and again until you can do so. I will check the community tab for sure. Also, there is no harm and no shame in advising your doctors of your low pain tolerance. They should know about all your difficulty with port placement. There will be days upcoming when you may not feel up to advocating for yourself, but you can do so in advance. An ounce of prevention and all that jazz. Best of luck to you❣️

Try this link and see if you can see my profile on the internet (not thru the app) instagram.com/incredibleanyway/. I will talk to my friend about a KZbin update too. Thank you for saying that about the low pain tolerance. I have told the preadmissions nurses/physician assistant and I'll be telling the doctors day of surgery. Thank you my friend!❤️

Can I ask you a tough question please Kelly. What will you do if the surgery doesn’t work or help the symptoms ?
@IncredibleAnyway
@IncredibleAnyway Жыл бұрын
It is extremely unlikely it will not work/help. The surgery has a high percentage rate of success on Meniere's patients. I've had 9 gentamicin injections that chemically kill the communication between the brain and ear and that has helped temporarily to give me complete relief from symptoms until my nerve cells regrew in my ear. So we have proof that stopping the communication between the ear and the brain works for me. Cutting the nerve will give me permanent relief where I've only had temporary relief in the past. If I still happen to have vertigo at the end of healing from this surgery, either Iv'e developed vertigo in my opposite ear, which we have no proof of at this time and is highly unlikely, or the vertigo isn't Meniere's related an we'd have to investigate the cause to treat it.

So I have to relearn to walk balance-wise, and that is what the vestibular therapy is for that I talk about a little further in to the video. He is a physical therapist but specializes.
