It should have ended with Sae's Story. They rounded Sae out more. She's a really interesting character study and I liked the goofball guy they introduced. I think Peach Girl Next was a mistake. It was clearly trying to recapture the dynamic of the original regardless of how much the characters had developed past that. It's almost like the second half of Glee where all the new members were just remixes of the ones in the first three seasons. Although at least they were new characters. Peach Girl just had everyone regress for no reason even though they learned some pretty tough lessons that made them change for the better. Sae is suddenly a master manipulator again even though her relationship with Ryo was supposed to teach her better. Misao is back and Kairi still has a thing for her, which doesn't even make sense because in the original it didn't even seem like genuine love (sidenote I hated Misao in Peach Girl Next. She was needy and whiny and a grown woman hanging out with a group of kids she mentored from high school like stand up and move on stop leaning on this child). Toji is still waiting in the wings for Momo even though he has a child and had a whole wife. Momo isn't as decisive as she was in Sae's story and she's still letting two guys define her. Everyone is rewound into a worse version of themselves.

Not me slowly starting to realize that you've binged every single last one of the animes that got me hooked on anime! Now as an adult, they were all hella toxic but these videos take me back to when IDGAF...

i unfortunately had a sai in real life. but unlike the show, to this day everyone still believed her lies. i actually had friends who i NEVER had an issue with and NEVER even argument with pretty much tell me i was a shitty person for the lies the b**ch said i did to her. except we were in college so i hated college because of it. the most traumatizing 4 years of my life. and to this day i am baffled at how easily tricked people could be. and the thing was i never even once retaliated or even told another the truth. i though by not engaging in returned gossip everyone would be like "wow Shanté has nothing bad to say about her maybe she''s lying" but no. they hung on and believed every single word with zero evidence. and no other person in our friend group was around to corroborate her stories. like no one even witnessed any of the alleged abuse i did to her but sadly no one though that was suspicious that zero other people had an issue with me. and he's the funny part, while me and my real life sai were "friends" i showed her peach girl because i wanted her to see how her behavior was. and she despised sai but didn't see sai in herself and never stopped harassing me and spreading lies.

Peach girl next pisses me off so badly oh my gosh. It was just so uneeded. After sae's story, it made no sense how she just randomly went back to the raging bitch she was in original peach girl. Who after her redemtion and charectwr devoipement. We also see in saes story that she trusts momo and kairi alot she considers them her closest friends, im sure hey do to, esp after the ending of saes story where we see they alk prepared 19 years of birthday cakes for her. They clearly care about her aswell So for her to ranodmly go back to the girl she was in og, os jaut bad writing. They absalutely discarded all her charecter developemnt abd her writing. Seriosuly, what was the author doing? It genuinely made no sense. After ten years, you'd think sae would've settled down with monkey boy (saru) and gave it A REST. She should've left that damn manga after saes story and gave it rest, if she wanted to give more content, maybe she could've given a glimpse onto kairi and momos married life with kids or some shit. Misao is most definitley am attempted r worder. In my opinion, Momo seems to be most at ease around Toji. It wasn't a very "exciting" relationship per say, but I do think they get along together as is. If the show ended at the original then I might've felt pretty okay with her staying with Kairi. I actually used to root for Kairi until I got a little bit older. I might just like how simple Toji is in comparison to all the dramatics of the series

@@zubbys Well Kairi did get over his obsession in the original series but this next peach girl is just character assassination The reason I didn't like toji in the original is simply because he was TOO simple and had no personality He had no chemistry with Momo and their relationship was forced He didn't understand Momo and it just didn't feel like a relationship but just moments between two people The reason I was rooting for kairi is because he had a personality he was an interesting character and had an actual relationship with Momo Toji definitely became more interesting in peach girl next but he in the end still ended up being nothing In the original kairi was the best character he got some character growth and had a whole episode for his journey to understand his feelings Even if his concepts weren't done very well he was still the best in his cast Toji was just a plot device In peach girl next toji is still a plot device but he got alittle more interesting Kairi got so much more unlikeable His character growth got ruined and his character just lost all of the things that made it good in the original

Ueda keeps implying that Momo must end up with one of the two and I genuinely believe Toji was the best option. It's completely okay if you feel otherwise, but I've thought about it for a few years. I only see Momo feeling peaceful around Toji and his family (so long as Sae is out of the picture). Kairi needs to get his life/priorities together and Misao needs to go to a psychiatrist for her attempted r word.

WOW first off and foremost well done for this commentary, you did a great job! The peach girl anime I watch over and over again it’s defo this weird comfort anime for me has been since I was 16! I had no idea till recently there was 2 spin offs! I think saes story should of been a prequel to why sae is the way she is, would be been a good way of the audience to maybe see a more human side to her if she had struggles growing up.
