No you were right, at launch Origins was $40 but when Plus released the price dropped to $30

Sometimes being a sonic fan feels like being in a toxic relationship. Everything about sonic origins feels wrong to me. Them unlisting the genesis version of the games on steam so you would have to buy the overpriced collection if you wanted to play the games, and the very rushed feeling the collection has, and the fact you can't play with lives and widescreen for some reason (not sure if the dlc has fixed this, it's minor but the fact the lives mode is literally just the port but without widescreen just seems like a fuck you to people who enjoy playing the games with lives). To me at least this just doesn't feel like a collection that should be $30 or $40 even with Amy.

Origins has been one of the most overhated releases I’ve seen from the community, I agree with what you’ve said here. The price should’ve been cheaper and origins plus content should’ve been in the base game. I don’t care about the game gear games. I would’ve preferred games like Fighters & R but I already know it would’ve been a bitch to emulate and would take way too long for it to work, I’ve seen people say they should’ve included Chaotix and 3D Blast but the I know damn well they’ll play it for 2 mins realize it’s shit then never touch it again, this might be a controversial opinion but game preservation is only good when the game is actually good, that’s probably why SEGA didn’t port 3D blast & Chaotix for how panned they were and the only thing they’ll bring from those games is their music cause that’s one of the few good things those games have going for While I’m still satisfied with origins, I still wished SEGA cared a bit more about this collection by removing the chart bullshit, the lackluster dlc, the expensive price tag, the time crunch and miscommunication between headcanon and the devs then people would’ve praised it wayyy more. This collection got me in love with classic games with classic being my favorite version of in the series so I wish it was treated better then trying to milk it dry.
