Call it what it is. Garth and Emma both were happy to perjure themselves on the stand. Maybe that's why we didn't hear from Seth, Leah and Mark, maybe they weren't willing to lie under oath. Again, my opinion.
@sunshinestate88845 ай бұрын
Agreed, they should have never put them on the stand. It didn’t help at all and the defense knew that the prosecution could prove they weren’t telling the truth. Why put them through that for absolutely no reason at all.

I think probably they way they view it is that they are being tried in a "gentile" court; and, it's ok to "gentiles" to lie to protect the priesthood and calling their father has. This is a possibility but I keep reminding myself how time can work on someone who is keeping a horrifically dark secret. By all accounts Garth was the closest to his mother, and Heather Daybell, who was distrusted and kept at arm's length by that family, has said Garth was the warmest and most accepting to her when she saw them after Tammy's death. I believe he has a good soul and that soul will cause him untold misery until he tells the truth sometime in the future. Emma needs to feel superior to the rest of humanity so I'm not expecting much from her.

The death penalty is so much worse for surviving family members because of all the mandatory appeals this will drag out for many, many years. Life without the possibility of parole is the best, the door will be locked, key thrown away, and you'll never have to deal with this guy again
@tinykitten89375 ай бұрын
But the people on death row have less freedom and privileges within prison than regular prisoners so it's a harsher prison stay until they die. I'm for Death Penalty all the way.
@judyanderson57725 ай бұрын
I agree. I've been thinking about that often, for a long time. The families need the justice that life in prison, no parole, gives. Appeal after appeal that the death penalty allows, will keep ripping off the bandaid. My heart go out to everyone that has had to deal with the heartbreak of this horrific crime.
@cathieknight74644 ай бұрын
@tinykitten8937 I have no personal experience only all the victims stories I listen to. I support victims and overwhelmingly after multiple appeals that all come to the same consensus. Since I have to choose between causing the perpetrator more pain or alleviating the pain of the victims families, I prefer to try and alleviate their pain as much as possible. If parole isn't possible they can forget all about the perpetrator.
@tinykitten89374 ай бұрын
@@cathieknight7464 I understand, and it's ok to have different opinions. I take great comfort knowing that 23 hours of every day for the rest of his life will be spent in isolation preventing him from recruiting any new followers in prison. I didn't know the victims but I know some of their family members. I worry about Lori brainwashing her fellow inmates. Regardless of the family's suffering this barbaric crime and total lack of remorse must be met with the full force of legal punishment and I'm grateful that the jurors agreed.

Emma said that it was really hard on her father "watching" Tammy die. She also testified that her mother died in her sleep so which one is it? If she died in her sleep Chad could not have watched her die! Also, Garth told 2 different stories, he testified that his father woke up and called out to him for help and when he went to help, his mother, Tammy was cold, stiff and gray! Garth said those words with absolutely no emotion! I cannot believe that he was talking about his own mother being cold and stiff and said it like it was nothing! A co-worker of Garth's testified that Garth told him that he found his mother deceased on the couch and that Chad was not at home. So I don't understand why he was not charged with perjury!

Yes that is absolutely what Emma said and it was I believe a slip of the tongue or parapraxis. Prior had that when he referred to Tammy's death and called it a "murder." He had another slip too that was very telling. Then Garth finding his mother "frozen on the ground," "oh, stiff not frozen," Then Chad takes the phone.
@1notstressed5 ай бұрын
Emma used these words: …”seeing her die was very traumatic.” She was telling the truth here, Freudian slip of the tongue. If Chad came upon Tammy after the fact, Emma would’ve said “…saw her dead (past tense.”) It took six long seconds for Pryor to ask the next question. Even he was dumbfounded, until he called the case “murder”, I think it was the following day? Garth. He was his mom’s “muscles.” But on the day she needed him most, he proved to have no heart muscle. What a disappointment, of a man. Of a son. He demonstrated that he has no guts, weak, impotent and inept. Seriously, Chads beliefs and/or the religion Garth practices has made him a eunuch. Hurray for the Chad Daybell Sect.

JJ was too young as well and both he and Tylee had their whole lives ahead of them. Tammy was lost to all who TRULY loved and appreciated her. Charles too. May the wheels of Justice find CD guilty on all counts and may his children who have not been 100% honest with themselves and others find the truth inside of their hearts. When Tammy died he was telling people ask Garth he was there. Garth knows what happened. I felt like then Chad was throwing Garth under the bus. Emma made comments in the beginning that her Dad did not want anything to do with his kids. Do y'all think it was because he just was blinded by LUST?? When MS Blake asked Emma did she know Tammy had a demon called Viola in her per Chad. Emma said NO!! If for 5 yrs the Day bell kids did not listen to news or reports on the case Joe and Emma will be shocked when Mr Prior evicts them out of his house. I think LE needs to check the RACCOON graves buried in compost pile behind silver shed for Tylee's missing bones. When Mr Prior asked if they could still be on th property he was answered yes.

I have to say I feel compassion for Lori’s parents. Every parent does the best they know to raise their children, and it’s only in hind sight we can look back and say “I wish I had done this or hadn’t done that.” But to come to terms with the fact that YOUR CHILD, that beautiful baby you held in your arms and watched grow into adulthood, could be capable of being so delusioned as to participate in the things she did is beyond my comprehension. My grand son isn’t even a year old yet, and he is the most angelic, perfect little being-to think that he could grow to be anything other than a fine and honorable adult, is too painful to contemplate.

Ian mentioned in testimony in Chad’s trial he has left the LDS church, hopefully Melani has also to further distance herself from being deceived again.

I think Brandon tried to steer Melanie away from these insane beliefs, which led him to be ranked dark. Ian met Melanie when she was still married. I applaud him for pulling her away from these insane beliefs, but he is still a home wrecker. Lori and Chubs encouraged and sanctioned their marriage and the marriage of Zulema and Alex. They were married on the same day. He was in it at first but I think the unaliving of children and innocent people was his line. I do respect him for these things. In the meantime, Melanie sacrificed a life with her children for Mama Lori and Papa Chubs. Hope it was worth it. I couldn't imagine being without my children. Mine are all grown and have families of their own, but just the thought of not being allowed to see them causes me anxiety. Guess she never loved them after all.

Emma and her husband Joseph, and Garth will pay for their testimonies the rest of their lives. It is clear that they were lying, and their testimonies will haunt them for the rest of their lives. What gets me is that the Cox family that stood up for Lori eventually came into reality when they found the children in Chad's backyard. The two adult Daybell children has never acted devastated over the condition and the children buried in their father's yard. What they do not realize is that eventually they could have been marked dark, and Lori and Chad taking out insurance on them. Chad talked terrible about Lori's parents and Summer and Adam. Chad talked terrible about Tammy. I hope that someday the adult Daybell children wake up that she gave her entire life, heart, and soul to her family. I hope that someday they watch all the information regarding Chad and Lori and face reality. I appreciate how Matt Daybell sat there in court with those on the prosecution side. The Daybell children have cut so many of their family members off and their family is fractured. It is so sad that they did not go to their Grandmother's funeral, Tammy's mother. Do you think that Chad will be added to conspiracy of murder of Charles and the attempted murder of Brandon? He should be charged in my opinion.

I think Chad's kids and spouses all need to be watched- they may carry on Chad and Lori's sword.

We are not a religious family. My mother s opinion was that we could choose our own path. We were educated about all religions so could make informed choices. None of us chose any religion in the end .
