Would be awesome to see you do a custom oil cooler set up. I am all for doing something cheaper and potentially better, the perrin and mishi may not be as affordable for most.

Mishi or custom is my vote. Not directly related to oil temperatures, but have you already added port injection to your stock direct injection yet?

Off topic but I know the FA24 is limited with things like injectors and IAG hasn't had anything out for the public but after watching your videos it seems like your turbo wants an engine that revs higher but I know as a vb owner you can't do that. Does it feel that way when driving? I am wondering because I might get a turbo kit but I might wait till IAG makes something avaliable.

The turbo definitely loves the higher RPMs. Current redline is at 7k. Once an IAG block is available i would like to upgrade to that and install upgraded valvetrain to rev maybe 7500 or higher. I'm sure IAG knows what our oil system can handle as far as rpm goes with their r&d. We won't know until they release their engines. For fueling we are still limited as we don't have a good port injection solution yet and no upgrades to the high pressure fuel system yet either.

@@JoeyMontalto I thought so. As far as power I'm only on an intake and e85 and with just that I can only imagine what a built one would be like. The potential is wild. This is the downside to being first at the party we have to wait.

don't do Mishimoto had the thermostatic for a week and the banjo bolts wouldn't stop leaking on top of that one of the oil lines blewup reverted back to stock and returned it so going custom at this point.

perrin with the strut tower brace. haven't seen anyone do a video on installing it.

I was hitting 265F on the track for 12 minute sessions before i got my oil cooler. Im pretty sure the AP limit is like 260F? With ny oil coller during rallycross i was sitting at around 225 all day pushing the car. I deifnitely think for you on drag racing though you probably dont even need it but oncebyou statt tracking you deifnitely want one. I like how my perrin one is in the fmic area vut i havebt taken it to a track so idk howbit would perform. Ive been wanting to create some ducting from the hood scoop. Also id say the car aime times does weird stuff e.g. ill be crusiing donw thebhigheay abd ny temp will be 215 randomly , other times ill do some pulls on the highway and itll be like 205 lol idk

What temps does your oil reach bro? Optimally you need 220-240F with a good synthetic oil i am sure you are using already.

Yes I will be adding them as some point. The fronts are great and are actual weight savings off the drivetrain.

@@subterraneanguitartech the TDMi rears will also be a weight savings. I will definitely be upgrading at some point

if your running ethanol, does this help in anyway to cool your oil?

I run exclusively and only ethanol 54% for 26k miles and use a Walmart synthetic and my oil is 210-220F so not even approaching hot enough. 5W30 oil.

@@ironmandingo1 if your oil temp is below 230F in daily driving you are where you need to be. Spend you money on another mod, or save it.

if your oil is NOT getting to 220F daily or at least 212F+ you are doing your engine a disservice. Adding an oil cooler is the last thing 99% of us should do, if you use Amsoil SS or quality synthetic you are good to 250-260F. 230-240F would be optimal track temp by the way.

I think you should compare costs of custom versus name brand and then go with the cheaper option 🫡💯
