I once had a sucessful scam bait where my character was from Norway and would only reply in norwegian. It even got so far that the scammers would translate their mails to norwegian first before sending them to me. Quite funny, especially if you introduce some mispellings so hopefully google translate will not be able to translate some of the messages fully. And you don't even have to worry about not being able to speak a foreign language, just translate it with google translate. Remember: It's all about wasting the scammer's time.

@@CST1992 Yes, or just introduce some grammatical errors, for example "would of" instead of "would've". Or "I could care less" instead of "couldn't care less". I listened to this while driving, and all I could think was how innocent and sweet you sounded with the apple cider and bakeries. I know its crock, but it's nice to think of an alternate reality where you managed to convince them to be open pals and drop the scam... reality sucks sometimes :(

If I can get a UK bank account number out of scammers I call the bank's fraud department and the response is usually.... "Hmmm.... That's interesting... Can you forward the emails to me?". Obviously they are never going to tell me what happens but I like to think at least a few scammers, or more likely their money-mules to be honest, have their bonfires urinated on.

Jeez, that guy badgering you to report it to the police needs to chill. Even burglaries get a crime number followed by 0 hours of investigation nowadays. Police are understaffed and busy enough without people sending them on wild goose chases. Anyways, keep up the good work. These videos are informative and funny. Top content.

For the next FAQ, perhaps you should give a few more tips on how to tell wheter an unexpected long-winded email is a scam or not? While *I* know the answer is basically always yes, I've noticed that some new opening templates you've gotten are quite well-written, which may throw off more gullible people - keep in mind, some of your advice is to check wheter the e-mail has correct spelling and grammar or not, and this scam's opener look like it's A-OK.

My mum had a recipe that was handed down over generations. She added whatever fish was handy, cod, bass, or even shrimp.It was the "setting aside" that got her. There were all these bowls laying about the house and kitchen, with dried out wrapped candy or macaroni. She would even leave them in the bathroom. Set yourself aside on a thin ledge of the 37th floor of a tall block.

In case everyone watching wonder what the recipe for Tremblett's Pie is, here is the recipe, as generated by DeepAI. The Recipe for Tremblett's Pie A simple, yet delicious, pie crust recipe that uses two ingredients. The one that made Tremblett's Pie so popular. This recipe will make almost 1/4 cup of this creamy pie, however, it is not as well served as the more refined ones due to the dough's complexity and the ingredients. Instead, enjoy the crust. The pie crust is made by placing some butter, some salt, and a pinch of sourdough powder in a microwaveable pan. The sauce is the same as you saw in the last recipe. You can use your choice of two colors of butter in this recipe or use a sweetener instead: red sugar, or white sugar. The topping for the pie crust uses crushed tomatoes, crushed red pepper flakes, white pepper, and all of the essential ingredients. Step-by-Step Directions 1. Put on your baking sheet. 2. Melt butter. 3. Add 1 cup of the frozen tomato sauce. 4. Place back on the sheet. 5. In a large bowl, mix together ingredients. 6. Pour into the pie crust. 7. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the top comes out clean. Let cool to room temperature. 8. Remove from the oven, let cool on paper towels.

Ever think about Cleverbotting some of these? Coming up with creative ways to waste their time with non-sequiturs and mildly annoying conversations that are about the scammer's personal life and lifestyle (scamming) might get a hook or two. Another idea is to play a young child and see how they open up when they think they're scamming a child out of their parent's money. You've done the "new to the internet, but loveable old grandpa" role on your older scambait vids, and they seemed giddy about stealing from you. They probably still would be happy to take money from a child as well.

Atomic shrimp another great funny video. It's always great to see what ways you will jerk these scammers around. Endless diversions, meaningless little nitpicking, all kinds of nonsense. I had tried something recently, just as a way to mess around with a scammer. I replied to an email, they asked for payment (of course) and I responded "Ok, I will get it, somehow..." Next email, I said I had 'robbed' a local gas station for the money to send. Not surprisingly, after a few surprised emails, they didn't seem to care. As long as I said I had the payment to send. But here's something else I have wanted to try: at some point during the conversation, have some 'emergency'. Either the victim has been in an acident, or another family member has. Perhaps even respond a week later as the victims 'layer'. It would be interesting to see how far they will go to get that money, even during something like a death of a family member. Keep up the good work.

Hello, i am a new subscriber and i would like to thank you for your patience and hard work to face these kind of criminals and put in a format that is not only educational, well intentioned but also entertaining. As you mentioned in some of your videos, you do not make only this kind of content and even though I haven't watched yet your other content (mainly because I'm binge watching your scambaiting playlist) i couldn't help but subscribe. You have a variety of skills, such as the elderly man needing a heart operation. The innocence of a 13 year old boy and watching this video i couldn't help but find your character so charming and lovely that i thought it would be a pleasant time to converse with someone like that. Please keep up your hard work (as it must be mentally exhausting at times ) and i just felt the need to share that i appreciate what you're doing. Have a nice day and God bless you.

Man, the scammers I tried to mess with were just so quick to give up or stop responding. I had to hound them and even then, I just got bored. I was really disappointed they didn't seem to have the same commitment that these ones do. And I was not wasting my time, by 'hound them' I just mean keep emailing them asking if there's anything else, etc. Nothing I had to devote time to.
@AtomicShrimp5 жыл бұрын
It's not possible to win every battle. The videos I publish here are a small fraction of the number of attempts I make to bait scammers One trick that does work for me is to start off by seeming to be interested, confused, innocent and trusting - this gets the scammer firmly on the hook before I can then divert into nonsense and delay. If at any point I sense the scammer's impatience rising, I fall back to being softly compliant, then build up again. Its exactly like fishing.
