That's the best insult in emails. But the best insult for phone scammers is to say (very nicely, as if you don't know it's an insult) "I'm sorry, I can't understand you, can you please transfer me to someone who speaks English?" That's the audio version of the "small boy" insult, probably because English is an international trade language like Latin used to be, a few hundred years ago, and it's implying they're not serious business people if their English isn't as good as yours.

When I was in California at some Mexican restaurant with a parking lot that was most certainly not flat, I noticed that there was a door in a blue building near the restaurant that had no doorstep. Some of the people that were with me took photos of the door and I was wondering how safe it was to have a door roughly a foot above ground level with no stairs, especially if the ground is not level (the door opened out into the parking lot my group was parked in). Apparently in the mid-2000s there were more scams centring around getting victims to fly to said countries (South Africa for one) and then they'd steal their money and kidnap them. It's probably not so bad. In most cases, people don't leave money to strangers. Generally, if you're close enough to be left money by someone, you're at least close enough to hear about their death throughout channels other than the ones distributing their will. For example, even if you had a great aunt you didn't know who left all her living relatives something, you'd most likely hear from your parents or your grandparents that it had happened. Also, very importantly, no matter who leaves you money, you'd never be required to pay an advance fee that isn't deductible from the inherentance, you'd be able to contact the agencies and banks involved independently by methods other than just email, and all points of contact would likely have a better grasp on the English language and professionalism. So, with all that, whoever has to do that wouldn't really have such a hard time at all. I'm sure they'd get a few people thinking it's a scam but they'd be able to easily prove it wasn't, and would never have to ask anyone for money.

You'd be surprised how many families have a feud or just drift apart. There is a TV series about the work thee people do called heir hunters. My sister had gotten a phone call from a company that told her that she won a free trip to England. She thought it was a scam but she listened more to the phone call right when she was about to hang up and they told her it was absolutely free of charge and that they were going to send the plane tickets to her email address. So she checked her email and lo and behold there were 2 free plane tickets to England. She went to the airport, gave the person her boarding pass, and she went to England! Apparently when she bought her pool she had signed up for a sweepstakes the pool company had for a chance for a free vacation to England and she forgot all about it. So a year later when they contacted her she initially thought it was a scam. That just goes to show that anything that's legit will never ever ever require you to pay a single dime.
