Great video! Love the project box. But boy am I glad I bought your variable voltage box a while back! Will make dialing in this transducer I’m building super easy. If you guys aren’t aware, Joe makes a 0-30v variable voltage supply box himself now! Thanks again brother for the continued knowledge you provide and contributions to this industry, it’s much appreciated by many! You’re are a pioneer of the automotive community my friend!

I'm a long time mechanic, but I'm new to the psi transducer testing. I think you make some awesome points as well as have great info on building a personal test unit.

I built one just like this but it's powered by the vehicle battery. Yours is a little more portable. Works great for confirming timing!

Thanks joe this is cool, I'm just starting to get into the scope and pressure pulse analysis here in scotland. All the best bud

Awesome man! Thanks for joining us. Please look for classes by Brandon Steckler. He is a guru with this testing. Trained by Techs has a channel he is a part of. Incredible instructor and a personal friend.

I used this video and made mine. I only need to get better transducers the ones I bought are not accurate 0⃣. But I still use them and do very well. Thanks joe.

Thank you my friend. Learned a lot since this video was done... There are probably better options today than building your own. There are even wps knockoffs available now which are super affordable and work the exact same. K st upgrade the cheap hose it comes with. I have some stuff on my store you might like as well. great video, gm has those 3 prong plugs on some of their oil pressure sensors i believe it is and also elsewhere on the vehicle. i cant think off hand where else but i know i've seen them. thanks for the upload.

Maybe you can make a demo video? That would be great! Great channel "you the man"

Had a chevy truck in today for low power while accelerating from stop or up hills. Positive 30 total trim and wonky maf readings. Found dirty MAF due to oiled K&N Filter, And a disconnected breather line on the intake after MAF. Fixed those two issues and trims settle down to +/- 5%, Was all happy thought i got it fixed. Test drove it and issue still there, truck had new after market convertors on it and also say the alcohol content was ~40% when the guy doesn't use flex fuel (Believe this is a common issue and there is a PCM update for this issue) and reset that. On test drive I have fuel supply as front o2's were 880-920mv on power enrichment but truck just bogs. Suspect plugged exhaust due to other issues damaging the convertors and have no way of testing. Thought of making my own in cylinder pressure transducer and going to give your way a shot as i can't afford the good ones. Long story but I just had to explain, Thanks Joe!

back pressure gauge is easier than making the sensor.

@@JoesAutoElectric True, But sadly don't have one and the way i look at it tho is once I make it, I have it and can do more stuff with it.

great video joe I made a 0-300 psi transducer with ebay transducer which came with 3 pin connecter and 5 volt reg my fluke pv 350 went south and could not afford new one thanks for video

After watching several videos on these transducer builds a common complaint is the sample rates may not be fast enough for detailed in cylinder pressure testing. Have you found any better quality eBay transducers?

good work sir. i have a question here,is that possible to convert passive pressure transducer into active pressure transducer or self powered pressure transducer?
@JoesAutoElectric5 жыл бұрын
If you mean without cables to hook up to a source, then yes. You can use a 9v battery to power one through a 5v regulator.
@shoaibqureshi17945 жыл бұрын
@@JoesAutoElectric no. i mean that, is this possible to make active pressure transducer?{without any battery or source) like thermocouple(active temperature transducer)

good vid joe.... I also have the pv350 and just a few months ago I made me a setup to do in cyl pressure testing....this is a good reference to me because i'v been thing about exhaust and intake pressure testing and I don't really want to spend 500+ for the first look sensors. the only thing that bothers me was I saw a few vids that informed, within the vid, that there was a voltage offset....and I don't know why there would even be one. anyways good vid...oh and the hardware only cost me around 30 bucks to setup the pv350 to adapt to my "devoted" compression hoses...
