Thanks, Chris, for sharing the continuing saga of this property. Once again, you improve anything you touch with your equipment. I remember when you filled in the end of the field to raise the level up. I also appreciate your words of warning about how deadly operating heavy equipment can be. You make it look so easy and simple when it's anything but. Your operational and situational awareness is phenomenal. Thank you, again, Chris. I hope Christmas was wonderful for you.

I am certainly confident, that the folks you work for, like to &/get to actually see how hard/smart you work, when they can watch videos of what they pay you to do. 😇

It always makes me smile when you get out the old 220 and D6 together. They work well together to get a lot done without complaining and a high payment 😅. Rain is here, let's get the marshmallows roasted, Chris. And you're sounding a lot better now. I hope you enjoyed your day off for Christmas.

In the early 80s I was doing residential construction. In one development they had a company removing the trees. They had machines the had huge nippers in the front. They nipped the trees near the base then skidded them to a giant chipper.The chipper ran on two twin diesels. The chipper would take a while to come up to speed. When they shut it down at lunch time it was still winding down a half hour later. A crane on the chipper would lift the whole tree onto a conveyor which fed it into the chipper. A full grown tree would take a couple of minutes to be chewed up. The chips blew into a closed semi dump trailer. There was at the time a Homesote plant about 50 miles away. The chips were sent there and made into impregnated sheathing. The plant is gone now. It became a blue stone cutting company.

Will that sucks the 220 won’t do the fancy grab and snap like the 350. Figured a slight speed advantage would help assist with the power difference. Although the root rake size difference might play a factor in this aswell.

Looking good Chris. Shame it is too dry to keep a low fire burning the whole time on the job. Save a lot of time if you could burn it as you bring it down instead of stacking up and then waiting for the rain. Life as it is, not how you want it to be.

Pine cannot be used for heating fuel - too much creosote buildup.
@williammatthews294817 сағат бұрын
That would work if people would collect the wood in accordance with Chris' work schedule and if the landowner would allow someone other than Chris to be on the property. Also, not many people these days want to put in the hard work necessary to clean up that kind of mess. Everyone wants a handout.

Hey, I have a stupid idea. You know what a PITA it is to burn stumps because of the stuck on dirt. Get an old water pump truck and use it to wash the dirt away before burning. There are probably more reasons NOT to do this, but it's my theory, and I'm sticking to it. I know the stumps would burn faster and more complete, but at what cost?
