The Kirkland name seems to be gaining ground more and more with each product release. Once again, looks like so much fun testing on the indoor simulator.

Seems to me the V3 is slightly firmer with less spin, fits a lower HC, & should play more like the X line of most brands. I like that, my main gripe about the V2 was that it's too soft. Great video.

Love playing with the Kirkland V2s. I had no idea that they came out with the V3. Sweet! Can't wait to try them out.

Yeah, I think they are definitely an improvement. Let me know what you think of them man

I love how the V3 keeps that spin on the lower side for max distance w/o too low of spin. Love how the spin is high on the irons for better stopping power.
@capnhook33_ Жыл бұрын
Seen this a lot with all manufacturers. The most recent releases have balanced spin on the driver with spin on the wedge.
@joshmarkham8158 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for doing this, I played v2 and spin my drives like crazy, I needed lower spin. Stayed away from k sig for that reason. However the v3 looks promising, I also can never pass up a good deal.
@robyates136 Жыл бұрын
Matches what I've experienced already with these two balls (I have stock of the V2 as well as V3). Great for our rock hard Texas fairways where lower trajectory/spin makes for great dividends in distance. But as I think your data shows, they are a lot closer when it comes to shorter shots.

You have to do a water balance test. I like the soft feel of v2. Haven't tried v3 yet. More spin might be better for slower speeds to get the ball up.

Against the kirkland V3 is enough. V3 is way better than V2 at overall performance , At least in my experience.

Still waiting on seeing the V3, ball here in Scotland. My only problem with the V2 and even the Seed ball was durability. That was pretty much it especially hits from out the bunker. Given l pay £47.99 a dozen for Pro V1's, it is nice to see cheaper balls on the market. I can't really comment on North America, but golf is a dear sport to play here in the UK. DTC, clubs and balls look to be the way forward. Smashing video again, Gab 👍. Keep them coming.

The reason I kept the V2 out of the bag was its inconsistency around the greens and loss of distance off the tee. If they lowered the spin rate I could game the V3.

I used the V2 last year and V3 this year. The biggest difference I have noticed is that the cover is not as durable on the V3. I have noticed cracks appearing only after a few holes. I also think the cover is a bit more rough than the V2 ball. I still like them but prefer the V2 durability better.

@enzymatic1 Жыл бұрын
Main catch with the V3 is it feels like you're hitting a rock if you're used to hitting a softer ball. If you can get around that, its a great ball. They made them feel a lot firmer in order to make them more durable, since the durability of the V2 was awful.

Along the lines of testing golf balls... I'd like to see how a "new" ball compares to the same make/model ball that has remained in the sleeve for 3 years.
@Paul-lm5gv Жыл бұрын
I've seen other reviews that say the V3 is a harder ball (higher compression). I LOVE the V2 bec. it's soft off the driver and with my lower swing speed at age 75, I like a softer ball. So V3 doesn't seem to be the ball for me!
@mariofonseca9267 Жыл бұрын
Legit from what I see here!! Longer with the driver for sure, pretty even with the irons. Is the efficiency number with the wedge accurate Gabe? Or do you need to tell the simulator that you are hitting a wedge not a driver?
@Sdemmy980 Жыл бұрын
The biggest difference I’ve noticed is I’m not ripping the v3’s up. The v2’s looked like they’ve been through war after 9 holes. I’d rip them up off a full wedge shot every time.

Great comparison. From what you've shown here, and based on what I've seen in my own testing on an LM, I'd be willing to bet that the biggest change from V2 to V3 (apart from the more durable cover) is that the V3 balls are a bit higher compression. When I've tested any higher compression balls I get similar results--more ball speed and less spin with driver, and less ball speed with more spin off the irons due to not compressing it as much with the irons. The MGS ball tests show that same pattern also.
@daveeastcott9323 Жыл бұрын
Generally, a high spin ball of the wedge/irons is a high spin ball off driver with very few exceptions. Generally, a softer ball is lower spinning off driver and wedges. The higher compression balls spin more. I.e. tour balls.
@erwinbrown4949 Жыл бұрын
The original ball is my preference because prefer a higher ball flight.

loosen up your wrists on your driver swing, you're trying to muscle the ball and really tight. Watch some Paul Wilson videos for some tips

You didn’t hit your third 7 iron with the V3 clean at all and that’s why the averages were down. Should have. Replaced that shot in my opinion to make it a fair comparison

Just happy Costco is disrupting the golf ball market. I feel either are great for the average guy. 3 balls lost in a round = 3$ for the K-Sig and 12$ for a PV1 (just had to do the math;)

You showed total spin as the measurement which is incorrect. Backspin is what you should represent. Your side spin made the total spin more exaggerated imo.

Stopped the video after you hit the 3rd V3 ball with driver. Why would you say "A little bit better there" for spin up around 2700 with driver? Driver spin around 2000-2200 is way better for distance than 2700.
@saxmanryan1187 Жыл бұрын
When I found out how high of compression balls these are I stopped using them. I don’t get much club head speed, by choice. After changing to a low compression ball, Supersoft, I’ve noticed much better results. More distance and less spin on drives. They’re more expensive but I lose way less balls

Your testing of these two balls tells me that there isn’t any appreciable difference between the two. With the many variables in golf and a golfer’s swing on any given day it certainly wouldn’t make any difference for the average golfer’s score. I have been playing V2 since it came out and enjoy it. If I wanted to change balls, probably the Pro V1 x would be my choice. Price for them is crazy outrageous with little change in my score.
