It breaks my heart when so many customer service people say they're afraid of being rude to creeps. There's nothing rude about saying, "That's inappropriate. I'm happy to help you as long as the conversation remains professional, or I'll have to get my manager." The creep is the one being rude & you don't have to take it just because you're in customer service.

@ChaosRaych5 жыл бұрын
@@PeanutDaMan6 I agree. I've worked in customer service for 20 years & I've let things slide that I shouldn't have because of the same mentality. I didn't want to cause trouble or embarrass the creep. Now, I've learned that I'm not the one in the wrong just for standing up for myself. There's so much training for how to deal with inappropriate co-workers, but nothing about inappropriate clientele & many people actually believe they just have to take it with a smile.

It also helps having a good manager. I worked in hotels for 7 years and I was lucky to have all my managers stick up for the staff with creepers. A guest called my coworker a bitch and our manager walked him outside and yelled at him. It made us all feel safe and valued, but it is sad to see a lot of managers not sticking up for their crew. The customer is usually never right, honestly.
@Sheercashmere5 жыл бұрын
ØRīGīNāL RāYCHēL which is part of their entire plan: FLIP THE SCRIPT. Abusers, (physical, mental, emotional, etc), and all other criminals are opportunists, and often you find one commonality being the inability to accept personal responsibility/accountability. They view everything as being the blame or the fault of the vic’s, (I.e., the victim’s fault). Getting their way is part of their game. Manipulating every possible aspect of the situation especially to make a victim feel bad, guilty, or like they may have offended the “customer” is part of the games. I agree that we as a society have been trained to submit to that person or customer, and I do think that the “customer is always right” except when a personal boundary has been crossed or breached!!!! Then, ALL BETS ARE OFF! I believe that management as well as staff has an obligation to that person who has bee serving the customer: back them 1000%! No one has the right to offend even if they are a customer! I could go on and on...u get my drift! Ta ta!

I just want to make a PSA to everyone regarding the one story about the night shift hotel clerk who that guy kept saying had the wrong room- NEVER SACRIFICE YOUR SAFTEY FOR THE SAKE OF BEING CORDIAL!!! your safety is more important than being kind to someone! Please also never walk in front of someone you have an eerie feeling about, especially after that person was just talking to themselves, making bizarre behaviors or saying they are going to kill to themselves in the bathroom. This was an extremely bad decision on this persons part that could’ve costed them their life or got them badly injured. There’s many schizophrenic people and though most are not dangerous, some can be. Never feel the need to accommodate someone when your in an unsafe position
