Okay, in the first story, when the alarm bells go off, you get the hell out. Staying to be polite so you won't hurt his feelings can get YOU hurt or killed. Make an excuse and LEAVE!

Like for example, you don’t know if the person would become aggressive and harm you. I feel like the person could have phone their parents and let them know or let someone know to feel safe. To go along with the person where basically no one can protect you is dangerous.

@@somaliyahh I thought about that, too, but I also think that even people with no regard for their life can still imagine worse things than death. Like if a crazy person gets in and decides to just keep you for their personal entertainment... it's worth avoiding that particular possibility. Maybe they just needed a reminder. Either way, it's difficult to get invested in the story when the teller of the story doesn't seem to even want to help themselves avoid the entire reason for the storys' existence. Most people have enough self awareness to realize when what they're saying sounds ridiculous or ill advised, so they give more of an explanation about their state of mind during the time of the story. Doesn't even have to be in depth, just something more than a couple of words.

Hahah, that was the fakest story ever too. Among other doubtful plot points, it’s hard to imagine a 16-year-old living alone in a house, particularly when the layout of the house apparently defies the law of physics! She describes the bedrooms as being upstairs, but also where man is gaining access: the bedroom windows. I never heard of people breaking in to a home through a second story window. I guess he had a 20-foot ladder stashed in the bushes too...

I enjoy your stories that are ghost-y. Real or not, they are entertaining. Lately too many of your stories end up being sensationalized near rape/harassment stories. I can hear them on the news any day. They are not scary, but horribly depressing. I'm not wild about being reminded of how many actual assholes there are to worry about.
