..Joel? You’re my absolute favourite KZbinr and yesterday i had the best and worst feeling I’ve had in a long time all within 10 mins. You gave me a heart but i edited the comment because i noticed a typo and your heart disappeared 🥲 I originally wanted to leave it and definitely not write you because of that, but i literally can’t think of anything else like how am i able to be so stupid and make such an exciting moment into a sad and irritating one? If you... maybe would like to give me your heart back i would appreciate it so very much. But if not it’s also no problem, i mean i made a bunch of screenshots so i still have the memory of that moment :) i just will not have peace if i don’t ask. Please keep up the great work and thank you very much for always helping me out in different ways with your narrations 💚

It's very scary to realize someone was actually living in your crawlspace, I have heard of it before on Crime Of the Century on ID (investigation discovery), the case on that show was about a guy living in the attic for years and the chick that lived there didn't know it, until she started noticing things moved and food being missing or eaten when it was in the fridge she would go back later and it wasn't there,, this case happened many years ago, it's terrifying honestly.

I feel for OP in story 3, I mean it's not their fault, it really isn't. Some people are monsters hiding in in plain sight and as awful as what their grandfather did I hope that they don't assume too much guilt for the disgusting legacy he left behind. Hopefully that journal makes it way to a historian or museum where it can do at least a little bit of good, just like OP is now trying to put more good into the world after finding out the truth.
@CocoWantsACracker10 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think we should all judge people on their own merit. There is a reason no family members are on trial for a crime committed by their next of kin: they are completely innocent - offspring even more so than ancestors. OP or their family or not on trial for acts committed by one person only. Anyone treating them with disdain needs to take a good hard look at themselves.

For the guy in the third story. I do hope he makes a book of that diary, yes after his mother passes as I'd hate to do the same thing to someone in my family. But I think people need to know what happened behind closed doors so speak. And just maybe, it'll help others that might come across something just like that.

29:00 the Quebecois whose grandfather fought for Germany - a lot don't know this but many french Canadians were not supportive of WWII. Their heritage was when France was a monarchy and religion was prominent in their lives. When Britain obtained Canada the french were isolated. Eventually the French Revolution happened in France and its culture changed a lot from the old France and their religion had been persecuted somewhat. So, when Germany invaded France they thought it a just punishment for becoming secular - both WWI and WWIi. Many french Canadians felt no obligation to Europe, the British Commonwealth, or English Canada and detested obligatory service. My heritage was French Canadian 2 generations ago and I didn't know of any that would join Germany certainly but do know many were neutral feelings about the war. Just like the author of the story said - if it didn't involve Quebecois he didn't much care of history - same sentiment of many French Canadians.

For people to be proud they did such atrocious things. It makes me physically ill. I used to be a Nurse starting in 1994. I remember some of the elders I worked with. They had numbers tattooed on their thumbs. I know I had learned in school. To meet those folks. To hear their stories. I was in awe of all of them. My grandfather fought in WWII.
