@@lancasterII This was in the fall of 1997. I believe it was before Alan's Celeb Interviews. This was precisely when Alan used to say that the segments were sponsored by various people. Like, "... and by Larry King: he looks like an owl." and "Soccer Moms?!? Soccer MAMAS!!!" It was immediately after one of those sponsor reads that Alan said, "And now... back to you, Monkey Ass." Dave's reaction was something new. He looked as nauseous as he was bewildered. Paul had an "OH SHIT" look on his face (a real one) and Alan looked a tad nervous. Dave laughed in a way that implied (there's going to be a meeting about this) but then asked Paul, "Can he do that?" Either everyone involved deserved an Academy Award nomination... OR... Alan ad-libbed. Paul is a terrible actor and so I'm going with ad-lib.
