Wow. That defendant is truly slimy. He was going to say whatever to get out of paying. In court it was "I'll pay her ... eventually" and "she wouldn't have asked for her money back if I had slept with her". Then after the judge schooled them both on Ohio usury laws, all of a sudden it was "I would've paid her if she hadn't 'loan sharked' me" ... which was his offer to her in order to secure the loan in the first place, not a condition she placed on the loan. He thinks he's all that. News flash --- he's not.

Here's what I'm thinking. Defendent says (in state of Ohio or any other state that has a goofy law like this), "Lend me $500 and I'll pay you back $800 in two weeks. Plaintiff thinks, "Great, I'm almost going to double my money in 14 days and he's willing to put it in writing". But the defendent knows that this contract is illegal in Ohio and that he won't even have to pay the principle back, never mind the interest. JM didn't even touch upon the fact that it seems that it was the defendent that made the $300 in interest offer. And the way the law is written, it may not even matter if it's the defendents idea. It's the perfect scenario for scammers. To be fair, I don't think the defendent actually knew this, but he does now!

My mom had same thing.widowed with money she met a single dad with 2 boys.they dated,she was smittened.but never intimate except for kissing.started hinting at money woes.she loaned him 1200 but made him sign a note saying he would pay so much every month.nope,he didn't pay,got distant.she took him to court,he had to pay back by 30 days or wages garnished.he did but was a jerk.few months later he came in to moms work to order wedding invites with his fiance.wow..6 months later got brain cancer and he passed away

Because the tires already existed. Have existed since 1938. Different designs and patterns have been introduced throughout the years. The problem is the tires are hefty and gas guzzling. You also can't go very fast without issues.

That’s the law in her state. If a lender charges more interest than is permissible under the law, the court can’t allow them to collect on the loan at all. It’s a way to penalize loan sharks.
