The sweetness and talent of the bass at 11:41 is the kind of playing that made MK such a legend.

Can someone explain why on earth Mark opted to LOSE this sound in favour of the thin, lacklustre sound that he goes for now (and has done fir the last twenty years I reckon). Back in '83...he had the thump, the chunk, the fatness, the warmth, and the meaty slap....it had the FONK!! THAT'S Mark King to me. It's not just Mark. Mars bars have got smaller. Crisp packets have less crisps in em. There's not much change from a fiver when you buy a pint these days. It's not like it was in my day, I tell ya! LUVVVVVVV this video though. :)

To be fair both 'versions' are the same. Same touring year, same song arrangement. Different performances. I prefer this performance.

Ha haaaaa there's a giveaway at the beginning of The Sun Goes Down.... If it hadn't been so hard in the first place to sing the lead vocal while playing the verse bassline, would Mark have sung the song in full?

"Micro Kid" is a track which was clearly written around the synth riff - the studio version has a fairly non-descript bass line. TBH, it's a bit of a shame to see it "re-tooled" here to foreground a new (over amplified, very simple) bass part. Must have annoyed Mike Lindup a bit....

Exelent musicians, but honestly, some of the songs can be boring, just like a long version of The Sun Goes Down.
