Dr. Robert Lustig for Nobel Prize! Unfortunately he doesn’t need the background music! He’s voice is healing. Genuine master class🙏🏾
@micaonyx53015 ай бұрын
I read soooo often how someone should get the noble prize and it's getting annoying. For goodness sakes people please use half a brain and look up the requirements for the noble prize. It's for a NEW DISCOVERY, that was unknown before. Although what the good doctor is saying is very important and informative it's NOT a new discovery and isn't anything new that someone with the time and desires couldn't research on their own because the information he's giving us isn't new. The info is just compressed in a one plus hour video for the layman to understand without doing the work of seeing it out on their own 🤔

May 21 4:00pm CST. After watching a couple of Dr. Lustig's KZbin videos, I cut sugar out of my diet in Summer 2023. No desserts, no gluten, no "white" foods like rice and potatoes, and I have lost 94 pounds so far, down from 281. I have about 50 pounds to go. I wish I'd discovered Dr. Lustig sooner because on May 28, I will have my first of two total knee replacement "revision" surgeries. Yep, that's right - I blew my knees out because I gained back all the weight I lost before my first pair of knee surgeries in 2019. I learned my lesson. I changed my eating habits. The weight will stay off this time.

Dr. Lustig’s explanation of the metabolic process is so clear. For people like me with no biomedical background, I appreciate his insightful but simple explanation, it’s so fascinating. His message is clear, eat a balanced diet and get regular exercise. No matter where I go in America, I see so many people that are not just over weight, but morbidly so - not that I couldn’t stand to lose a few pounds myself. But it does boggle my mind. I know people that are taking insulin for type 2 diabetes and would rather inject themselves every day as opposed to changing their diet. Think of the disease we could prevent or push off if we took these simple steps! Thank you Dr. Lustig!

Tons of respect for Dr Lustig, who has been a trailblazer in the field. However I do think he overcooks the role of fiber a bit too much. Invariably people with severe gut issues (Crohns, ulcerative colitis etc) do much better on a low fiber or no fiber diet, which should pique our attention. Certainly those on keto, ketovore or carnivore don't miss the fiber also. Instead of worrying so much about feeding an expected 'normal' type of microbiome, how about just change the microbiome that you have, by eating a certain way? There's plenty of butyrate to be had in keto - carnivore devotees. And invariably those on low carb diets, once adapted, find that their bowels have never been better.
