Leviathans do not respawn once submerged. But there is a thing you can do to prevent them from sinking, potentially letting players harvest all of the barnacles. All that needs to be done, is to log out of the world once a leviathan starts its sinking animation. Logging back in will have the leviathan floating there as if nothing had happened, letting you resume your harvesting. If it starts to sink again, repeat the process of re-logging to your heart's content. This could be viewed as an exploit of the game's mechanics, but since these leviathans never respawn once submerged, I personally feel little remorse about it, mainly because I like to have them arround and seeing them every once in a while when I go sailing. Having them gone makes me a little sad. Anyways, there you have it. This trick can allow you to harvest all of the barnacles in their totallity. But do bear in mind that mining all of the barnacles can potentially make it impossible to remove the leviathan for ever since hitting the barnacles is what causes the sinking animation to start. No barnables = no sinking! At least... I think thats the case. Do what you wish with this information, I hope it helps!

Small tip, when harvesting chitin and the leviathan starts to move you can log out and log back in and continue to harvest it. Not sure if iron gate patched this out but its worth knowing

fun fact, both pronunciations are correct in the english language. I used to have massive debates about it with people in Ark and several of us finally asked our varying english professors in college and they all said, I think it was 3 or 4 of them, that you can say it either way.

You seem to be covering the mechanics of the more esoteric parts of the game which is awesome because that's the sort of stuff that you don't necessarily get just from playing or straight off of a single wiki page. Would you ever consider covering something like boss strategies or some less obvious general progression strategies? For example, using trolls to mine copper or using the antler pick in sunken crypts because it can be repaired more easily.

@@nunyabuziness9622 It's just proper English. You can look it up, it's pronounced the same in British English and American English. It's one of those words that if you sound it out, it won't be right, just like salmon. Which sucks, because if you know the word, people sound quite ridiculous.

Found 5 of these things all clustered together once. Two of them were literally clipping into each other. All together I got like 5 stacks of Chitin, but I was already in the Silver age so I didn't need the knife, and I didn't really use shields so I didn't need the abyssal harpoon for getting serpent scales. Now I just have a ton of Chitin sitting in a chest...
@risingangelttv Жыл бұрын
Make the knife and harpoon for display then! What viking hall is lacks weapons on the walls?
@meoff7602 Жыл бұрын
LoL, made the knife while still in the Black Forest. I'm in the Mistlands now. Still using the knife. You can skip all the other knifes. All of them. This one will kill just as fast as higher tier weapons that just over kill with the last hit. Make the knife. You won't be disappointed.
