This is a great topic. I started listening to Jay 5+ years ago. He’s passionate about growth. Serving others is vital. I work in healthcare and find pure joy in serving others. When I get into a mental slump, I push myself into a state of gratitude. It works every time. Be present, stay mindful!

When faced with inoperable cancer, it really puts perspective on what is important and of value. When I choose something, I realize I should make it count. You both are 2 individuals, I gravitate towards as I too am drawn to humbleness and humility. I am grateful for your service to humanity. It truly lifts me. Thank you.

We have to realize that what we do, whether we have wonderful intentions or not, that we can't control how others receive that information. They can take what we say, no matter how loving and giving we are in this, and turn it into negative and be offended, simply because they are not ready to hear it. One of my favorite quotes, "The teacher shows up, when the student is ready." Even though someone watches videos, listen to podcasts, or attend seminars doesn't mean they are truly ready to embrace what is said.

Be well and be encouraged. Sometimes what we believe we need to let go, the Universe keeps us tied to them because we have not learned the lessons from the relationship. If I can encourage you to let go of any form of control you are trying to have over the relationship. As you do so, you will begin to detached slowly but surely. A good book to read is "Letting Go" by David R. Hawkins, PhD. M.D.

@@juanc-ht7oy i gave myself permission to feel everything as it came and didn't let myself try to police my feelings into should and shouldn't. Gave myself to cry. Joined online support groups such as Facebook breakup support. Gave myself permission to not be okay for as long as it took to work through it. Reminded myself that this isn't all that is in store for me and there is something better coming after I work through this process. Took space where I needed and drew in close with family where needed. Challenged myself a bit at a time. Fought with them fucking demons instead of letting them take me. Gave myself permission to be silly and take in all sorts of comedy and music. Watched things I usually wouldn't watch that was entertaining. Reached out when I had social energy. Attended events when I had outside energy. Was a whole ass bum on days where I felt it and was extra af on days where I was like nah, we are amazing get the fuck up! Prayed. Talked to God through it as friends. That part was soooo critical because He was available when no one else was and in ways no one else could be. I vented EVERYTHING to God. Things I never realized I felt and things that pained me to grip. I asked him what to do and asked him to walk with me through this. I told him I'm mad af and feel extremely hurt so I'm not trying to be excessively challenged can he cut me some slack? 😂 you know what God did? He threw in some extra hurdles and said I gotcha, you need some distractions to get you moving again. Had an unexpected business conference trip august to Las Vegas that I had to collect the funds from scratch in 4 days (and did), random last minute trip to Colorado in October for my uncles 80th bday, mom's entire basement flooded September. My car battery died in October. So then literally the plumbing at my house went during the snow blizzard in december, my car got hit while I was working Uber by a drunk driver who stole the car they were driving so I lost both my income source and my vehicle, 2 of my teeth got infected one in Oct and one in Jan so I had 2 back to back emergency extraction surgeries which I got sick from both and lost 15lbs (I'm 5'2" and average 126lbs so that's a lot for me), in November our situationship that was mutually agreed upon to be exclusive was abruptly ended one morning and that same evening walked onto him taking a women out on a date when he and I had been making plans to hang out for days but "just couldn't sync up" 😂 mannnnnn, then my cousin got assassinated new years eve night in Memphis and died new year's day morning, my student loans defaulted this week, and I had to go to physical therapy from November through now to realign my spine from the car accident, fell out with my best friend because she was being hella unempathetic and insensitive then made up with her and then my younger sister fell out with her fiance who she brought home in Chicago to meet the family for Christmas and then broke up then she got back with her ex temporarily then the same week broke up with him flew back to Phoenix and made up with her fiancé which I against my will was apart of the entire situation because they were at my house, and now im experiencing the horror of job hunting after being out of the office style workforce since 2019 😅. . . . So from 7 months ago in August to today it has been a crazy ride. I will never in my life ever ask God to ease up on me again 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 but it sure did get me moving

I agree with preparation to prevent fear. My son as a 2 year old toddler were about to get 4 immunization injections to be updated. I remember telling him that he is about to get 4 injections. it will hurt a little, but it is for his protection, not to hurt him. I was amazed to see that boy bravely took all the injection without a hitch. Since then , he remain brave towards pain. He is now 25 years old.

A great interview--thank you so much, Lewis and Jay. I'm not disagreeing with any of the content, but I believe that real confidence comes from knowing "That" which we are--and it certainly isn't the "person." We are So much more. From the Baghavad Gita: "Weapons cannot cut it, nor can fire burn it; water cannot wet it, nor can wind dry it." I also agree with what was shared about the importance of service. Discover your purpose, and then live it, and success is guaranteed. 🙏

Lewis! I love your videos and watch them most days. I need a video that applies to my story - a single mom, in the wrong career & now I KNOW my path but I find myself spending all my energy on work, & my kids, & the life I want to pursue seems out of reach. I’ve always known I was destined for something greater. How do I get there?!

I loved your comment , and I noticed that lewis has replied to other thank yous but hasnt make it to yours, yet. theres still time, but in the mean time I thought I share with my thoughts. I am a fellow fan and get exactly what you are saying, thanks for taking the minute to or so to write a comment. .... You asked How do I get there , my friend , you are getting there, in the meantime keep a dream journal or some kind of notebook, and while the kids are playing in the park and you are sitting on a nearby bench taking a well deserved rest make notes take a minute or three to jot down that little/enormous idea that popped into your mind, or while the kids are playing on the livingroom floor, while you are folding laundry, taking a bath, wondering what to make for dinner, and while taking something out of the freezer and an amazing idea pops into your head - quick write it down - make notes in your dream journal patience is a beautiful gift that grows while we wait ... time take time , enjoy your kids while it's happening , in the moment because your future isnt in a hurry its waiting for you to do what you need to do ,. Everything takes time , and time , like money, is but a concept. While the kids are growing and going off to school and yer stealing an hour for yourself to rest and binge on yet another of these types of self education, educational videos take out your note book and fancy pens and take notes. get all the racing thoughts out of your mind so your brain can rest while you sleep at night, listen to your favourite sound meditation videos it'll help , while you wait. much love a best wishes on your journey.

Good afternoon Lo! I was a single mom a few years ago and what has helped me was listening to people such as Lisa Nichols, who was a single mom when she was raising her son. Lewis actually interviewed her a few year back so I would encourage you to look at that interview. I also read three life changing books, “Year of Yes” by Shonda Rhimes, “The Gift of Imperfection” by Dr. Brené Brown and “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. That followed a constant state of aligning with spirit, soul, and body to work in harmony helped me overcome. I’m currently married now with my second child but it started with getting on the journey of healing through self-aware, self-assessment, and self-care.

I love this. What an amazing topic, point and new way to understand how to better handle fear. Because it sounds like fear comes from a lack of preparing or lack of knowledge etc. So that is why I hope people enjoy my other comment.

“To perceive is to suffer.” ― Aristotle we suffer twice also repeated in Rumi and Paulo Cohela = if your going to make your statements please quote the original authors - JK rowling ripped this off as well as published it under her own name.

Thanks! I woke up this morning to the most inspiring and empowering conversation between 2 guys sharing with each other about the profound issues of living a meaningful life! I was deeply touched by the genuine authenticity and flow as they shared with each other intimately. I almost felt like I was easedropping, yet I was unable to pull myself away! I am grateful 🙏 for being privileged enough to have gained insight into many of the struggling feelings I've been simmering in. Thank you for the smile in my heart ❤️ and the exexcitement about starting my day.... (which has been missing lately 😢) I have never commented on a podcast before, just so you get the sincerity of my response. Bless you both.❤
