Mr Magoogan excuse my bad english. I was a teen boy in a house very cold in winter. I was covering myself with blankets and waited for the radio station. Every night your saxophone in this song was warming up my hurt. I was a poor boy in a poor family. Every night i was listening to this song and i was crying for my life and for my family but every night i also knew that there was hope. You must know that this song kept my soul alive . Now i am 47 and i m crying as i write this comment to you. I have a warm room and i have plenty if food. Thank you from my hurt. A greek man.

This iconic saxophone piece defined the song for me, although the lyric is nicely done. It's the sort of composition that makes one wish they could play too. A top favorite of mine for decades, and on many mix playlists because I can "Air Sax" with my face screwed up with concentration on my commute (prompting more than one person to ask if I was having a "turn"). Thank you. Thank you muchly and very well done.

In my 50's now and have to say its still the greatest piece ever played on a sax. The amount of debates ive had with people saying Baker street. It doesnt hold a match let alone a candle to this line from Wes. Still sends shivers up my spine today, how one man doesnt play a sax but brings a crafted piece of metal to life like some wizard, and enchants it to sing beautifully, like female soprano singer. God ! If i wrote this let alone could play it i would have a statue built of myself 😁😁. Never will a sax line ever beat this

OK So many of us oldies still think its the best sax solo we have ever heard. I agree with perfection but to be honest , you can hear the emotion in every breath. I may be wrong but I suspect Wesley was miles away, feeling every moment of that performance, the rise and fall of emotion is overwhelming, so much so that I don't mind admitting it still brings a tear to my eye after all these years. Its hard to find 'Exceptional' amongst the bland these days but that performance was truly exceptional and I am glad I lived to hear it. Thanks Wesley!

I wish I could of been taught by you man, we couldn't afford a saxophone when I was younger, so badly wanted to make my soul sing through a saxophone, I got a guitar and learnt sax on a guitar lol

Wesley, this is one of my all time favourite songs. More than 4 decades on and I am still rendered somewhat emotional by your wonderful sax playing. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for creating something so beautiful.

Heard this at work yesterday walking round the warehouse. Took me straight back to the early 80s. I thought what a wonderful song it is. Sax is so touching.

What a lovely gesture. Wesley. Your solo is still ringing in my ears over 30 years later. I doubt there will ever be better.

I think it's still the most iconic piece of saxophone on any popular music. The playing is amazing.

That was utterly stunning! Hazel O'Conner was good but the sax man stole the show. I have been listening to this song along time but this is the first time i have seen this version, thanks for sharing it with us.
