Thank you sir there was a piece of paper blocking the latch mechanism in my wife's car and I was able to retrieve it! Problem solved... The clips are so solid and I love the felt covering, everything went back together nicely, super tight!

When I tell you this helped me. I am not mechanically inclined and I bought the part for $40 from this guy off FB Markeplace. It took me about 3 hours to take out clean it and the car and reinstall. Thank you so much. That was $40 not $500!!!

this video was so helpful... my cup holder was broke on 05 ls430 for almost 2 years. I replaced it in 15 mins watching this video. I used a paint bucket opener thing since I didnt have the prying tool you had. wish I did this a long time ago, so easy.

This helped me fix three problems. Thank you! -Papers stuck in cup holder mechanism--including a Steak N Shake coupon from 2006. :) -A pen blocking the ashtray door from opening all the way. -Access to an ancient ipod device so I could plug in an aux cable instead.

Excellant instructions! I was able to remove the cupholder with the aid of a couple of nylon tools that I purchased on Amazon, "SunPlusTrade 11 piece Trim Removal Kit". I discovered that there was a piece of paper that was caught in front of the magnet that was preventing the cupholder from opening! So I ended up returning a new cupholder from Bell Lexus in Scottsdale, AZ that I had ordered via ebay.

Do you mean that the cup holder will not open? If so, I would follow these directions as though you are going to remove it. Once you have access to it, you may discover what the problem is (it may have something lodged in it).

If anyone wants to drift there ls430, pull that thing under the cup holder that has a yellow sticker. It is the YAW sensor.

Oscar c Oscar, all you Gotta do is take the felt coverings off, Press and turn where the wires go in at its plastic housing unit and the whole thing pops out it could be hard to get your hands in there and they’re pretty tough. I have unscrewed the whole light box once because I was having so much trouble 4 that all you needs a little socket attached a screwdriver good luck I hope that’s accurate I did it about six years ago.

The spring latch came with the new assembly, so I didn't need to do anything with it.

We sold our ride a year ago because we needed a van and I don't recall our mileage, but it is decent considering it has a v-8. However, it does require premium fuel.

_ Gabriel_ 2001 LS 430, I drove to Florida 26 hours from Toronto every tank a gas got 700 km 4 people in the car mostly a little bit above the American speed limit, and I also think we had to fill up every seven hours it was pretty tight 700 K7 hours we never stopped just kept filling up and going I’ve never done that before in Canada as too much stop and go driving but that’s the best you can get out of these cars,,,,, if the car only had one person I probably would get a little more

Yes! It is definitely the best car we have ever owned. We have since moved on to a minivan because of our kids and grandkids, but I would not hesitate to buy one again. Regarding salvation, I'm so thankful that God gives it to us so freely through his son Jesus Christ, what an amazing gift:-)
