You fill it until fluid just starts to dribble out. Transmission Fluid Capacity is 5.1 qts btw.

Some say don’t buy a vehicle with a CVT transmission due to problems with them going out. Can someone tell me about this. Thanks

Depends on the manufacturer. From my experience, Toyota and Lexus makes the most bulletproof and reliable CVTs in their hybrids. That’s because unlike most CVT units in other manufacturers, Toyota’s Hybrid CVTs uses a planetary gear set to transmit power, unlike the belt and pulley systems in other models. Both concepts provides unlimited gear ratios however only the Toyota/Lexus model employs a physical gear set which improves durability. Just keep up with your transmission fluid changes and they should last a very long time.
