@@rkgsd not true. if its a 2015+ model, the CVT would start having issues before 40k. if you don't have any issues until then, you'll be fine throughout. also its 1/5000 of this transmission 2015+ to have any issues. so its rare but still enough for people to widely report. the 2013-2014 nissan cvt models have serious and more common issues. i would avoid those. this video is based on 2015+

I just rented a Murano and it is amazing. Its like driving a couch. Ride quality is excellent and with a v6, you dont have to worry about turbo lag. Got excellent gas mileage in the city and highway for such a big vehicle. Handles like a car with almost no body lean. When my escape lease is up, getting a murano.

Just bought a Murano. I own a older Lexus RX but thought I'd check out what else is out there. I was looking at both brands and loved the Murano's features and style over the RX. The Murano has much more for your money plus offers more safety features. The new grill look on the Lexus RX is just plain ugly. The Murano is the better vehicle all the way around.

I just bought a 2018 murano sv. It's beautiful! I chose it not only for its sexy profile, but the zero gravity, heated seats and 3.5l v6 engine sold me over all the others I looked at. Also that panoramic sunroof I think I'll really enjoy this summer. Yep. I'd say this murano is definitely my dream suv. Now to just figure out all the bells and whistles.! Lol

Tyrone Long The Murano has a lighter coloured interior and that always makes a cabin feel more welcome and luxurious cause it brings out the details even more. I noticed this with the Lexus Ls 500 recently unveiled with several s class 550 models with various shades of interior. When comparing the same Colour of dashboard options darker brown the Lexus which has been shown only with a dark coloured dashboard looks far better. But comparing the S class with light colours white, cream, tan and other two tone colours with that very shade of brown in the Lexus the S class looks more appealing. I can imagine the new Ls with tan, light brown, cream or white dashboard and u'll see it blow most car interiors out the water including the S 550 with similar shade of colours.

Let's not forget not only are these 2 in totally different classes one being something affordable and one that is more suited for ones that like luxury or the sport luxury and is willing to pay more. Not to mention the Nissan has a CVT Transmission which I'm not sure if anyone likes considering the noise it makes just holding one gear while the Rx has a 8 speed auto. That's why the nissan is more efficient. Sure the roofline in the back is copied with the Rx as it mostly has gotten that styling from the murano. If you want to be simple and get something efficient and is affordable then get the murano. Want something suited with luxury and willing to give more money out of your pocket in both pricing and gas then get the RX. Does not need to be the Rx350 you can get the Rx450h if you want.

Murano has torqu vectoring to improve handling and a panorwmic moonroof that is almost like having a convertible without the bohersome wind and did xi mention bose sound? Unbelivable tech with the surround view cam and a radar that can acan 2 cars ahead those20"wheels are great for handling. Wnd there are things you can't see like the wctive grilleshutters and turn on te led headlamps and it's like driving in the day. The lexusnis Fugly! The nissan isnfuturistic and sporty but sophisticated on the inside. The big Suv can get to 60 in 7. 0 that is impressive for a suv that size. I'm gonna start off saying that I work at a Nissan dealership and I'm gonna explain what I see on a daily basis and I will give you input from a dealer perspective. Fail safe happens when the transmission overheats. That's what it's designed to do. Cvt fluid level is a huge factor. I don't know if this has been covered but there is a special way to check the fluid. We use consult 3 and monitor a temp count. After the temp count is where it should be the fluid is set. The fluid is not set at the full mark though. If its set there it's overfull and will cause it to whine and go into fail safe. Usually when it whines it's because the fluid is aerated. The fluid is usually set in the middle of the crosshatch marks to 3/4 depending on fluid temp. This is why we see so many people with transmissions that are over full. Coolant protection is also a factor. There are tools out there to check freeze protection. Nissan recommends -34 degrees for proper cooling of the transmission. I seen some overheat at -48 degrees. I live in Colorado so it usually doesn't get that hot. The hotter the climate the easier the transmission will overheat if the coolant protection isn't set right. If your doing it yourself try to mix the coolant and water to -25 degrees. That would be more ideal. Seems to cool a lot better. And so everyone knows This is for all cvt equipped nissans. Rogues aren't the only one with these issues. Altimas and sentras have the same issues. Now if anyone has been in a front end collision And the radiator replaced make sure it's a Nissan radiator. Here is an example. Customer came in had the transmission replaced 30k miles ago. Transmission kept going into fail safe and whining. Level was good on the transmission but coolant protection was off. Set freeze protection where it should be and took on a long test drive. Same issue. Found out that it was in a front end collision 6 months earlier and a aftermarket radiator installed. Aftermarket radiators don't cool as well as oem ones. We replaced with a Nissan radiator and problem never came back. Now I have a 2005 Nissan altima. You better believe if my radiator cracks I will probably replace it with a aftermarket radiator because I don't have a cvt transmission. These transmission are so sensitive to heat its crazy. Now there are always times that it may need a transmission and if that's the case then it will be replaced. Usually when this happens a check engine light comes on or there are some codes stored In the ECM. Now I want to talk about aftermarket fluids. Don't use them. There are some fluids out there that are suppose to be compatible but I wouldn't trust it. Talking to some of the engineers I have talk to said these aftermarket fluids do not have the same quality and will cause the transmissions to overheat and or damage it. Plus at my dealership if you have different fluid and a transmssion concern you can kiss that warranty goodbye.

Some people have a bad reputation and some have a good reputation. When it comes to reliability Lexus IS not as great as many say and Nissan is better than many say. The Murano has better reliability than the RX350 and it’s fully manufactured in Japan for solid reliability. Quit talking like Toyota, Lexus never have problems this is false. People perpetuate false statements all the time stop please. I’m a mechanic and Lexus has a service department too, because they have problems just let Nissan. Both are very reliable cars. Just google owner’s complaint on both and you’ll see what people who own them say. Instead of “reputation”
