So the LS engine has fired up and runs, but since these videos are a little behind current progress, I still need to finish out the rest of the engine build. In this episode we install exhaust manifolds from a 6.2L LSA engine along with new #acdelco exhaust manifold gaskets. Also getting installed are #NGK spark plugs, Blue Streak 8.5mm plug wires, new o2 sensors, and some other stuff.
NEW! Fully Spooled MERCH! You can buy t-shirts and hoodies to help support the channel here:

ACDelco LS Exhaust manifold gasket (actually only $12): amzn.to/2ubYcKo

Spark Plug Wires are Standard Motor Products Part #10026. Make sure you have round ignition coils before ordering that part. Cheapest I found is on RockAuto at about $32.99
Spark Plug Wire Heat Shields: amzn.to/2ztuDJm
F-Body Oil Dip Stick Tube: amzn.to/2NJNsLl
F-Body Oil Dip Stick: amzn.to/2JkCUPc
OEM ACDelco LS Oxygen Sensor: amzn.to/2Jem7NW

Thanks for watching everyone! Just working through a couple videos worth of content that I filmed before the livestream where the engine started for the first time. Next video will be the transmission mount, then I can move on to gauges, suspension, knuckles, diff welding, and then track time!

Yeah I didn't even realize it'd be an issue until someone pointed it out a while ago. Cheap insurance.

The way the motor sits and how the intake pipe and filter sits, it looks like it came like that from factory...to me at least.

Congrats again on finally getting it running! I would honestly like to see your version of modifying the catch can, since I'm sure you researched and did it well. Totally understand if you don't feel like making that episode though. I'm guessing that little throttle stopper switch was originally the kick down to tell the auto to go down a gear. Fun episode, feels like the finish line is near!
@FullySpooled
@FullySpooled 6 жыл бұрын
Yep, the throttle stopper is the kickdown for the factory auto transmission. It works perfectly as a stopper for the gas pedal and I'll know when the button gets pushed that I'm at full throttle. It randomly worked out that way, but I like it. Now that I have a drill press I can make a much better version of the catch can, so maybe I'll put that on my list of things to do.

Quick question though whats the pcv for?
@FullySpooled
@FullySpooled 6 жыл бұрын
PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation, and it's how the engine removes/recycles air that escapes the combustion chamber and gets into the crankcase below the pistons. That air has to escape somehow, otherwise the oil pan would explode, so it is sucked out of the crankcase by the engine's vacuum and reintroduced back into the intake to get burned again. Because this air passes through the oily crank case, it usually has fine oil particles mixed in, so having an oil/air separator, or catch can, helps remove the extra oil and fuel before the air gets pushed back through the engine again.

jesse iwamoto I have nothing against the 1uz. I just happened to have a 40,000 mile LS and brand new t56 Magnum sitting in my garage, and I sold the 1uz for the same amount I paid for the car. They are both reliable, powerful, and proven engines.
