Enjoyed the comparison but I would have preferred side by side between a top trim Platinum GH against a base model TX, since they will be around the same price range. As it is, it’s shocking the Lexus doesn’t blow the GH out of the water for $20k more.

You (conveniently?) left off the gas specs. For the models shown in video: Lexus TX Base Luxury : 20/26/23MPG (Requires Premium) Grand Highlander: 21/28/24MPG (Only Requires Regular) Minor difference but for $20K, I expect better! And when you go up to higher models the difference is Dramatically different, especially for the price!!! Lexus TX 500h (non-plugin,$7-10K more than Base Luxury): 27/28/27 (Requires Premium) Grand Highlander Hybrid XLE (~$2K more than XLE): 37/34/36MPG (Requires Regular)

A lot of hate in the comments for these two don’t know why maybe you all should try making a video. I got the GH 4t I love it. if my kid wasn’t in high school and I didn’t go camping all the time I would get the Lexus I would never get the prime

When you ask "what's a better buy?" and within 24 hours, they issue a stop-sale on both. Makes it kinda easy to decide, since you can't buy either right now. P.S. the Lexus is much better.

these 2 cars are currently have Stop Sale safety recalls for driver curtain airbag does not work, this video failed to mention. Shame shame. Do not buy.

Obviously this was filmed prior to that announcement, he forgot to add the disclaimer. I think the GH/TX situation will get fixed since the airbag is a modular item and not like the problems in the Tundra.

ag, wish I could share your optimism. As an owner of the GH, which I do like, my primary concern is safety and secondary concern is what this safety recall will do short and long term to the cars values. The trade in value right now is zero. No dealer will take them in trade. What your describing as a modular item is the air bag itself. My understanding the issue isn't the airbag but the body structure configuration. This is a serious design failure that has already cost Toyota lost sales. I'm also hearing that contrary to Toyotas claim that the care is safe to drive with the window fully up isn't the case. Several serious injuries have occurred with side impact collisions resulting in the windows breaking and air bag failure due to the lack of support.

@@JohnJohn-wr1jo I saw a head on crash test video where the driver dummy’s head ended up between the steering wheel airbag and the drivers side curtain airbag, impacting the A-pillar with significant force. That may be only part of the airbag issues. Hope Toyota is not becoming the new Boeing!

Why compare the LOWEST trim level of GH to a Lexus. You should be comparing Platinum Trim to base trim of the LEXUS TX
