I had success with the reset button, thank you so much! We're experiencing a heatwave here in the UK at the moment and I noticed our LG freezer had ceased producing ice and it turned out that it had some ice cubes stuck in it. The official LG trouble shooting video was rubbish, thank you for yours.

Great tip! My daughter had a sleepover party and the kids were getting water and ice all night. I bet that caused warm air to enter the unit and the ice to jam up as you describe. Once I reset it the few stuck cubes cleared out and I could hear the water flowing into the ice maker again. You just saved me from having to call for repair service!

Think you've heard this one before, "THANK YOU" this video was so helpful and saved me a lot of money. Couldn't have been easier. You could hear the ice break free immediately. I tried all the obvious tricks, but would NEVER had know about the reset button and it's location. The LG Thin app showed nothing, in fact it showed everything in working order. Bargain water filters fit mechanically, but didn't maintain water pressure. I also discovered flushing 2.5 gallons through the system after filter replacement is supposed to be done 30 seconds at a time with 60 seconds between flushes. Hitting the reset button enabled me to determine whether any water was getting to the icemaker (it was), and convinced me the unit was working, but not as fast as we were using ice! Thank you!!,

My problem was that it seemed like the rotation mechanism wa s stuck. I tried the hair dryer h seemed appropriate) but no. The reset button totally finished the rotation process. Thank you for this tutorial. My slim ice maker ran empty on ice, found ice cubes still in the bin, some cubes tried to come out but ultimately failed. Resetting the ice maker as you instructed caused it to dump all ice, and refill the ice cube tray. Before that, it would not refil the ice cube tray. Preying this solves our immediate problem. Thank you.

Thank you. Yes, it did the trick. Ice maker is making ice once again. Now if I could only find a DIY for repairing the freezer section - I think the temperature sensor or controller board has gone bad. Every so often, I receive a notification that the freezer temperature is too warm. I might start looking into it, and run some tests on things The fridge section works great. Cheers!

You could also try hard resetting your fridge by unplugging it for 5 minutes and plugging it back in. You might want to also contact your local appliance technician.

Im so sorry we paid extra for the craft ice. It worked for several months and then stopped. Also our ice maker on the door has dripped since day one. For the price of this refrigerator I should have asked my parent's for their old Sears refrigerator that has been there for 50 yrs!

@@Donsappliances ok here's my problem, regular, craft ices were used up to empty level since Monday. Then there wasn't any ice produced at all ,,,then I followed your video to reset the ice for both regular and craft ice maker and they dumped out the current ice in there...and waited another 36 hours for no craft ice, and 10 cube ice....till now Thursday. I called in LG support on Tuesday, they agreed my 6 months old need to replace the ice maker both that it should not be that slow...Until now at this moment, 24 hr produced 10 cube of ices and zero craft ice at all.... I bought this Instaview counter depth and ice makers started having the problem ....my previous 13 years whirlpool was still working when being hauled away LoL .....Refrigerator is not an easy market ....!! At least refrigerator still works to keep food cold and frozen!

I found that button last night. Our LG fridge (looks like the same one) is not even 5 months old and suddenly the slim ice bin you showed just started not dispensing the ice it makes. Ice will sit there in the tray until we do a reset. Was working great for 4 1/2 months. I did read it needs to be 10 degrees or lower to dispense ice, but that's going to be tough to stay below that on the door. Not sure it is staying that cold, but should not be limited to 10 degrees, that sounds hard to maintain on a door.

finally figured out the "re-set" button. I had to hold it in with my nail. LOL. However, I'm unsure if this will fix the problem. The grey gasket around the icemaker door had water at the bottom. Also when the ice door was shut, there was ice built up across it. This happened a couple of times. The fridge is about one month old. No problem up until now but I'm hoping the re-set works. The ice bucket was full. Maybe the ice door was shut properly and secured. Why would there be water inside the gasket?

Thanks for the video. That reset button helped me out. The tray was trying to turn the wrong way and kept binding and stopping. Once i pressed the button, it went the wrong way again two more times and then went the other way. Once that happened, i heard the water come back on and everything was back to normal.

I had the same problem, and would have to reset that often. Then it started maki g a very loud noise, like the compressor was working really hard. This morning when I woke up, it had code IF the ice maker fan was detected on my thinkQ app. Where is the ice maker fan? And should I replace that?

Saw your video, opened the compartment and there was a clump of ice stuck in the back portion of the basket that the spinning arm couldn’t touch.
