Most of your settings were great. However, I felt like the blacks were crushed when leaving brightness at 50. I needed a setting of 54 to get things looking a little more even. This applied to all picture settings. I also feel like Warm 2 is a little too on the yellow-ish side, so I use Warm 1. Thank you for the other settings though. Beautiful picture!
@chriswalker32576 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this comment :) ive been using the HDR standard mode for a couple months now and just wasnt quite happy with it. Changed the settings you mentioned and i find its much better now. Particularly using warm 1 rather than 2.
@olevet755 жыл бұрын
It's all about personal preference, I find warm 1 a bit cold and blueish.
@mojo38984 жыл бұрын
Brightness of 50 is definitely too dark. It will loose shadow detail. 53 is the one to go with. 54 blacks begin to go grey so 53 is the last level of true black. And those clicks from 50 to 53 make a huge difference.

I keep my trumotion on for my film based content. I have yet to have any stuttering with it. Maybe to the trained eyes can see the issue but I don't hate it and very much enjoy it. Why have an option on a tv that if you all want off anyways? May as well remove it entirely if it was that bad.
@Xander0547 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the video, you mentioned turning of true motion for film content and normally I would do this but I get terrible judder with this tv on 24p and I don't like having motion setting on because it doesn't look right. Did you not experience this?
@avforums7 жыл бұрын
Everyone perceives motion differently and 24p will inherently have some judder due to the frame rate it is filmed at but I didn't find it an issue on the C6 I reviewed.

My TV does not have some of the settings you are recommending
@Crzyvids137 жыл бұрын
Quick question has to come my attention for the HDR affect my TV doesn't have the standard option. Mine gives you a option of HDR (low), (medium), (high). Also can these settings apply for the 65" c6? Or is this strictly for the 55"? Thank you
@avforums7 жыл бұрын
HDR Standard only applies when the TV is receiving an actual HDR signal (from Ultra HD Blu-ray, Amazon, Netflix, KZbin), the HDR Effect mode is a fake version of HDR that the TV applies to normal standard dynamic range content, hence the different choices.

I used your settings for 'Bright Room' but I couldn't do 0 on sharpness, it was just too blurry, I've set both H&V to 25. I use my settings on 'Standard' when I want a dose of overblown colours and brightness. Pain having to repeat the procedure for other inputs, can a calibration be uploaded via a PC or App?

yet to try these settings but is oled light 100 not too much for hdr content?? would have to wear sun glasses to watch the tv!
@avforums7 жыл бұрын
You need the OLED light set to 100 so the TV can deliver the bright highlights but in HDR the overall brightness won't seem excessive. It isn't the same as setting the OLED Light to 100 with SDR content.

How did you arrive at these settings? Is this subjective adjustment or objective calibration? Also, do these apply to all TVs ir can vary from panel to panel?
@avforums8 жыл бұрын
We use a klein K10a meter, CalMAN 5 software and a Murideo 6G pattern generator. All our reviewers are THX and ISF certified with years of hands-on calibration training and experience. These settings are for this TV in our environment and published for information only. They might work to improve the image on your TV, but are just as likely to make things look worse. We suggest that you follow our Picture Perfect guide www.avforums.com/PicturePerfect/

Apparently when playing HDR content the colour gamut should be Normal not wide as suggested as for some reason normal tracks correctly. Is this true?

LG recommend using Normal because that mode is designed to track the incoming signal, although we didn't know that when the video was originally made.

Any chance the Dolby vision setting would need to much different than the HDR settings in this video?
@avforums7 жыл бұрын
There aren't that many Dolby Vision settings that you can actually change, so using the HDR settings as a guide would work just as well.
@davy_williams7 жыл бұрын
AVForums cheers for that. the reason I was wondering is because when watching dolbyvision content on Netflix the picture looks grainy at time. I expected that on breaking bad due to the use of film but not new content such as Santa Clarita Diet. I take it the picture is meant to be grainy?
@cleckie6 жыл бұрын
david williams I know this is an old message but it’s a fault of the source material. Netflix has added a lot of noise to their Dolby Vision titles.

tried these settings. On the bright expert setting i cant say i liked the look at all. Took all the life out of the picture and made it look flat. Im not aiming for over saturated colours.... but gosh... looked bad. will try the others and see if they look better.

Neil Joseph right..... on expert bright i copied these settings... but adjusted oled light to 65 brightness 53 colour to 58 colour gamut wide colour temp warm 1 on expert dark went with same settings as this video then adjusted oled light 45 colour 58 colour gamut wide colour temp warm 1 found this game a lot more pop without over saturating the picture. I know its personal preference as everyones eye are different. overall i am blown away with this tv. I had the lg 950v before this. Thought it was great until i experienced this set. Another level all together and honest dont know how tv can improve over this set. Its faultless. Just watched SUNSHINE on blu ray on this. With loads of contrast between the sun and the darkness of space is a great stress test that 99% of tv's would fail.... this tv basked in the film. Absolutely stunning. Truly breathtaking. The pinnacle of picture quality. hope these settings help

@Man_eee7 жыл бұрын
I had setup all the settings for my cable box but just got on Netflix now & it change everything including the picture mode to Standard, so I just did all the settings over again and it's looking very nice but I'm curious to know for playing HDR 4K content on Netflix if I have to follow the HDR settings from this video?
@cypriaansacre7 жыл бұрын
oHANDSOMEo Yea, but you have to change the settings for HDR and Dolby. What you see on KZbin isn't always the best.
@Man_eee7 жыл бұрын
Alright good to know man, I just set the settings for Dolby following these HDR settings. Watching Daredevil right now it looks great! I'm not sure if I set everything for the best picture possible but this will do for me.. let me know how it goes for you & if you changed anything different from these settings
@cypriaansacre7 жыл бұрын
I changed all the settings yesterday for the dark room mode and dolby. But then I noticed that I had to change everything for every different input over and over again (HDMI, Smart menu, TV) and I couldn't find any content that would activate the HDR mode so I could change those settings as in the video. Now I've reseted everything, just because things became to complicated and in my opinion the Dolby looked better standard settings. Also wanted to tweak the game mode for my PS4, but I have no idea what works best. So I think I will leave everything as it was and just use dark room mode for movies and game mode for PS4. In the end it's for everyone different. We all have different eyes and the TV's are placed in different rooms.
@Man_eee7 жыл бұрын
Okay I see & yes I agree with you on that last part. I follow the experts calibration settings but also tweak a couple of settings witch I like best. It can get confusing but just continue tweaking until I see what I like & until fully satisfied. For my PS4 I first made sure to turn on "HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color" under General settings & then set it to Game Mode & changed the input icon to 'Game Console' that seemed to do the trick for my eyes.

@infinite_dynamics7 жыл бұрын
its more to do with viewing angle, i have this tv, i noticed at times its perfect but when i sit close while gaming i get cross talk. unfortunately the best advice is to sit further back or adjust the height of either the tv or your seating position
@buckrodgers97897 жыл бұрын
AVForums that's weird because when I sit about three feet from the screen it gets pretty blurry. Stupid question but the tape on the clear base holding the tv can't cause the problem? I'm coming from the amazing panny vt 30 that was active 3D and I know the signal could interrupted if something was obstructing it.
@hababacon7 жыл бұрын
There's Crosstalk, but like others alluded to, it's angle and distance dependent. Sitting dead center at about three meters no cross talk, anything closer or off to the sides crosstalk slowly creeps in. I only tested one movie last night, last year's Ghostbuster which sucks, but the 3D was every bit as good as Pacific Rim's 3D.

@coolcras77 жыл бұрын
the TV auto recognizes if you are viewing HDR content and switches on( go to Menu- General-HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color and turn on all HDMI ports that will be receiving an HDI signal. The TV also has the ability to simulate HDR in the picture options but it is not true HDR, if you have Netflix you can do a search for HDR and it will show you which shows are available, because Netflix has both support HDR10 and Dolby Vision it tends to select Dolby over HDR 10 because it is the superior format, I would not use these setting for Dolby only HDR10, I was able to find one 11 minute clip on Netflix that is HDR10 it is Meridian using these setting it looks amazing.

I just got this tv, and honestly movies are not good. The picture looks awesome, but all movies I have tried are for a lack of better words, glitchy.
