These companies literally bank on most people these days not being able or willing to do what you just did. It's amazing what the public will put up with. Thank you for sharing.

I had a fan go on my fridge it would make all kinds of annoying noises!! The bearings went, put another fan in it,got another 3 years out the fridge until the fridge would keep anything that cold anymore!! Nice job my friend!l

Aside from the 12VDC wires... How did you know what wire did what?

Sorry, I totally missed that. 4 pin computer fan wiring is pretty standard, so I just Google searched the wiring for the fan, wired the known, and guessed the others. The fan ran full speed at all times when the wiring was wrong.

Could check with the multimeter if unsure.

Ground, +12v, PWM (for fan speed control) and tachometer so the fans RPM can be monitored. Fans usually have a pull-up resistor so this wire will show a high logic state, the computer grounds the pin at like 15Khz with a PWM signal for fan speed control. The tacho signal is usually pulled high by the computer and grounded by the fan once or twice per rotation.
