Dude! So Awesome! Thank you. I just did the same for my fridge and it solved the issue. Mine had a second ice maker in the freezer and so there was a small plastic shroud that I needed to unscrew. It had two small philips head screws and it was was a little tricky to remove. Then I removed the entire back panel, run the hair dryer on the Ice Maker fan and it started spinning freely. As soon as I plugged in the last blue plug on the panel the error went away. Took all of 15 minutes. Thank you so much!!

Brooo!! Big thanks to you!! There was so much ice that was clogged in there. Really helps to get the big chunks out with a blow dryer. Such a hassle, but I’m glad I got the job done.

This video just really helped my family out big time. Our freezer fan was frozen solid and after thawing it out with a hair dryer we are back in operation!!! Plus we didn’t have to lose our food in the process. Thank you so much guys, God Bless

Thanks so much for sharing this! Your video helped me have the confidence to dive into this repair, even though your frig isn't exactly the same as mine, the general idea was the same. I cheated, as once I had the fan panel off, I used a heat gun to melt the ice from the coils. ;-)

Awesome video. I really appreciate it, we jus that this issue happen and I just removed the inside without having to remove any screws, held a blow dryer by the vent in the back for about 3 minutes, wiped it down and closed it for about 10 mins, came back and it was working.

My fridge shows 1F E also and there is no ice build up because I don’t have ice or water coming out of it nothing is working on the control panel and I removed like you showed and replaced it back on but the fan didn’t turn on. What can I do? Also I turned the entire fridge off for over 8 hours and was working fine the entire day then the next morning same issue.
@CarolinaCowboys2 ай бұрын
The 1FE error is specific to ICE buildup. If you turned off the fridge, you are going to want to completely empty it out and leave all the doors open. But that will only guarantee clear the error. The problem could be caused by the door seals letting in air, or the fan is not working. You could test that fan to see if it needs to be replaced.

Thanks for posting! I got back from a few days out of town and my LG was growling loudly from time to time, and eventually got this error. I tried hitting it with a blowdryer, then blowing the blowdryer into the vents, then I followed your directions here. Like yours, there was no ice on the inside, and it spun freely. I put it back together and I am still getting the code. The fridge has two icemakers and the one down below in the freezer functions but the one in the door does not. Unplugging the fridge resets it for awhile but the code always comes back.Any ideas of what might be causing the problem? Does the fan need to be replaced? There appears to be two fans in there when I take off the back panel, which is which and which should I look at to replace? Or is it the icemaker in the door that is the issue? I feel like it's either that or being frozen burnt out the fan after awhile since we were gone and didn't hear it. Any advice appreciated!

Hello! When you unplug and defrost the fridge, if when you plug it back in and the error comes on immediately then you have probably have a bad fan, which fan I couldn't tell you. If the error doesn't come on right away but comes on over time, then you may still have ice buildup and I would completely empty out the icemaker and clean it out, then put it back together again.

First check the icemaker switch, maybe it got flipped off. Then check to see if there is a full switch that's triggered, it flipps when the ice tray fills up.

Would thawing it out for a few hours fix it without removing anything??
@CarolinaCowboys2 жыл бұрын
Yes it would definitely fix it but then you'd have to put all your food somewhere while you are thawing out the fridge, and then you'd have a puddle of water behind the panel to clean up.
@dizzydeany2 жыл бұрын
Not really. Thawing it out will just leave the moisture inside. You need to thaw it, and dry the moisture particularly around the fans (plural). The one in the center of the panel isn't the one that causes me all the problems, it's the smaller fan at the side. That needs to thaw and dry.
@Its_about_that_time Жыл бұрын
Is this a temporary fix. Mine comes back on after a couple of days once fixed and sometimes within a couple of hours
@CarolinaCowboys Жыл бұрын
You might want to check if your doors aren't sealing properly because either moisture getting and freezing is causing the problem, or your ice machine is leaking.
