@@LGUSASupport Same. I only can mute and control volume on my LG TV. I contacted customer service and unfortunately the agent wasn't much help. I could tell he didn't know and constantly put me on hold to consult his resources.

Hey Kev, from what I can tell only certain models support control from Google home to the TV, I have the LG C1 and it only supports TV to Google home controls... Meaning I can control other things from the TV but I can't control the TV from other things

I have the same issue, everything is linked but Google home mini can't control the LG tv after the latest webOS update. Worked fine until that and now I get a message my tv isn't supported. It's a 65" UP7000 fairly new in the last few months. Broken update from LG in my opinion

After configuration, inside Google Home, it shows the TV and the message "Not responding". How to fix this? Already tried to redo all the configuration and had the same result. TV Model: LG OLED 65C1PSA. Also tried to add the LG ThinQ service to Google Home, it adds all my other LG devices, like refrigerator, wash machine, air conditioners but not the TV. Does that means it is not supported?

This is the worst implementation of Google assistant I've ever seen. How does LG not realize the confusion they're going to cause by creating two separate ways of connecting the Google assistant that each provide different functionality? In case anyone else is reading this and is as confused as I have been, let me break it down for you... You have 2 options: 1) use "Google assistant" with your magic remote (and ONLY the remote). This will not allow you to control your TV with your Google home devices. It will only allow you to control Google home devices with your TV using a version of the Google assistant running on the TV itself. It's gimmicky at best. You'll also notice the magic remote option adds a phantom device in your Google home app that cannot connect and cannot be removed/deleted/unlinked. The only way to get rid of it is to create a new home, move it to the new home, and delete the home. 2) use the "works with Google" option. This is the only way to control the TV with your Google home devices. This will also link all of your LG devices to your Google home, not just your TV. This option also does not allow your TV itself to be an assistant, nor can you use the "magic" remote to talk to the Google assistant. 3) ok there's a third option. Just pretend the TV isn't actually a smart TV. Get a Roku or Chromecast like you would any other TV and have a solution that actually works.

I recently bought some google home and nest devices with the intent of home automation and routines.. i could connect every smart devices that i have in my home except for two LG TVs.. i spent hours looking to different tutorials and none of them work, including this one.. i gave one of the TVs to my parents and i put the other one up for sale and ordered two samsungs.. LG fix this issue

So you can do these voice commands through setting up this Google thing, but then there's also the voice commands you can do by holding the microphone button? What's the difference? Is there any reason to use one over the other?

Hi there, to use the Assistant with account linking, please check your country in the TVs Settings. Google Assistant works-with is enabled for 10 countries and languages for LG TV (KR/ko-KR, FR/fr-FR, DE/de-DE, GB/en-GB, US/en-US, CA/en-CA, IT/it-IT, JP/ja-JP, AU/en-AU, SG/en-SG). The language settings of your LG TV are configured based on your region and country. The language listed settings must be one of the 10 listed above. Check that the country and language setting on your mobile app is the same as well. I don't know exactly when it stopped but I never had issues With Google Assistant controlling my C9OLED, maybe a year or so? Give or take...it stopped working. I couldn't use Google to turn on TV, change volume..etc. since this time I haven't been able to get it to work. I follow the instructions but when I link LGthinq through the Google Home App I get a message from LG saying I have no Devices connected to my account. Yet I can clearly see that I am linked to Google on the TV and I can see my TV in the ThinQ app, and control it there. Yet not with Google Assistant

Will Google nest work with LG uf6430? I was able to see it in the Thin q, but when it's time to sync it to Nest hub will say your device is not linked...Check settings in the Thin q...The app does see the TV, and from the app I can send signals to the TV, not with the Google voice assistant. "There is no device linked to Thin q", but actually it is cause I see the TV in my app.

After the latest webOS update, I can longer to use Google assistant with my TV. The google home app cannot be loaded and is completely missing and is not searable. Google assistant worked fine up until the most recent update when I was forced to update so I could load other apps to the tv. I have ZERO way to connect the assistant since I don't have a magic remote and now I get a nice message that it's not a feature that is supported on my TV now from Google home. WORST most broken update I've ever seen by LG for a smart TV. For what it's worth, I can control the tv from the LG app and link Google home to it, but I have zero functionality from Google Home now. Can't control volume or do anything other than see the device is there with a default "TV" name. I had the same issue as others with the phantom TV device that came over and it worked with google assistant,, but this latest update fixed that but broke the integration entirely. The name.doesnt even come over from LG to Google home anymore. I have the UP7000 65" for those that are curious.

You can’t control LG TVs from other device in the home. I am only able to control my other devices from the LG TV. Please update this and make the tv more available to control from other google assistant enabled devices.

I can't believe I spent over $1300 dollars on a TV that lags on the home screen due to the sheer amount of ads it has to load, can't be used with any voice assistant in any meaningful way, and basically require a stream box just to use alot of apps. Your OLEDs are overpriced.

I want to speak to the TV remote control and have the assistant speak to me from the TV, just like Alexa, but I prefer Google Assistant and it doesn't work on the 2023 TV. LG OLED65C32LA does not have an assistant even on the remote control I am disgusted with this problem in Sony for 9 years I have been controlling the house by talking to the remote control there is no option here even if I change the region it is something terrible

@@LGUSASupport Unfortunately, you sent me to service in the country I come from. And in Europe, the C3 Oled TV does not support Google Assistant, in Sony TV and older LG models, the assistant works because I have an older non-OLED model and it works great, your newest TVs are usually garbage for this reason and cannot be used in Europe, I wonder if it is the same in the USA there is this problem. As soon as the matrix burns out, I immediately replace it with a Sony one, at least it can be used. C3 took me back to the times with the first plasma TVs - a tragedy. I do not recommend your TV, it is not worth saving €150, it is better to choose Sony. I was convinced by the propaganda that LG provides matrixes so it can use them better, unfortunately now I feel as if LG was 15 years behind Sony :( Greetings to the employees who respond to me, but I will avoid the LG company at all costs

What did you do? My OLED 77 GX remote does not have the Google assistant button either. However, the one for my new 6&5” outdoor tv does. I grabbed that remote - which will control my 77 GX tv but when I press the Google Assistant button - nothing happens. My Google home shows my TV in it - but says that it’s “offline.” When I tried to have it turn my tv on, my other Google device told me that it’s not responding. Why? This is RIDICULOUS. I have Alexa set up on TV but want to get rid of it bc it constantly starts listening when it hears anything remotely similar to “Alexa” said on the TV (even at times when nothing even close has been said). Thought I’d try built in Google assistant instead but can’t get it to work either. Super annoying.

Well the solution is obvious, you need to go to another country when you want to voice command your TV, then go back home to see it in effect ;-j Or you could build a house right on the border of a neighbouring country & have your tv in your home country & your reclining arm chair with remote in another Voilà!

Before update new software of LG webOS i can use voice service, of Google Assistant & Alexa & ThinQ. Unfortunately, you sent me to service in the country I come from. And in Europe, the C3 Oled TV does not support Google Assistant, in Sony TV and older LG models, the assistant works because I have an older non-OLED model and it works great, your newest TVs are usually garbage for this reason and cannot be used in Europe, I wonder if it is the same in the USA there is this problem. As soon as the matrix burns out, I immediately replace it with a Sony one, at least it can be used. C3 took me back to the times with the first plasma TVs - a tragedy. I do not recommend your TV, it is not worth saving €150, it is better to choose Sony. I was convinced by the propaganda that LG provides matrixes so it can use them better, unfortunately now I feel as if LG was 15 years behind Sony :( Greetings to the employees who respond to me, but I will avoid the LG company at all costs

Absolute trash. Doesn't connect to Google home. Should be sued for false advertising. Yes, I did contact support and all they did was show me this video. They stopped replying after I told them it didn't work

@@LGUSASupport FYI - this is the OLED55C1AUB. Same problem all Canadians have with trying to link Google home to the thinq app. Yes, the tv is registered to the app and can be controlled through the thinq app. When linking the thinq app in Google home, it simply gives the error that there are no compatible devices. I have tried recreating accounts, reconnecting and registering devices and account in every permutation.

for those who live in the Benelux. according to lg customer service i was told that google assist does not work in all benelux this means for every tv from lg Google assist werkt niet in de hele Benelux **UPDATE** in my previous post here lg had posted a message below my post telling me to contact lg us and send a private message. I did this but they referred me to the Netherlands. that was not good assistance the message below was sent by a robot
