I disagree with the point where LG should've released the phone earlier to get more people to buy it. If they were to release it earlier people will still hold up their cash to see what other brands are going to release (esp. Apple, Google and Samsung) and by the time they release something new, people would've forgotten about LG's. The main problem with brands like LG is lack of consumer awareness (marketing) and lack of excitement it generates among the KZbin community. Let me elaborate more on the latter. I watch a tonnes of reviews in my free time from various KZbinrs and the nuance when they review Big brands (Apple, Google and Samsung) is totally different from when they review brands like LG, Sony etc. Most LG reviews tend to revolve around its wide angle camera and DAC (rightly so, as they are the defining features of the brand) while ending with a bitter tone saying they should do something better and that's the only video you'll ever get about that phone. Meanwhile when a hot new phone from the Big brands come out, most KZbinrs will milk the shit out of the hype to produce tonnes of videos about that new phone, regardless of the pros/cons they posses. That's free exposure for Big brands. I love what's LG been doing with their smartphone lineup but it takes effort to really support them. The hype of Big brands tend to take over my rational thoughts. Dave, you have some of the fairest reviews on KZbin and a smart guy. Let's see what you can do about this phenomena.

Dave, I have been waiting for a long time for this phone. I am on the V20 and I like thisnew V40 phone. I was really hoping for stereo speakers along with the DAC. If they had stereo with the 845 I would be sold, but since it is just a mono I'm going to look at the next Pixel phone or Razer Phone (better have 845 at least) as my next device (yes I know rumor is razor will be 835, but time will tell). I am looking for a decent camera (nothing crazy), stereo speakers, and a headphone jack (good DAC would be nice). For phone companies this seems like an easy thing but for some reason every year we are always left looking for more. Top priorities for the tech enthuse, good stereo speakers, good DAC, nice screen, decent cameras, 6+ ram, Snapdragon 845+, etc...

This is LG's best phone for sure for 2018. It also is very comparable with the Galaxy Note 9. Quite impressive. Though I don't think the average user will need the 5 camera lens. Also, what I'm impressed with is how this and many other Android phones offer more functionality than the iPhone still. I'm still waiting/hoping for Apple to: - include Fast Charger adapter & cable - switch to USB-C - include support for microSD storage If Apple can do that with the iPhone and iPad, they'll really dominate the tech industry in terms of smartphones and tablets.
@Pod06 жыл бұрын
Apple won't. They literally do not have a reason to include chargers, cables, dongles, etc. and restore certain functions to their future iphones simply because of how well they sell. Sure we can go on a heated discussion on how apple is good/trash but the fact is that they have been taking out certain aspects of their phones over the years. They took out the headphone jacks, they didnt include dongles this year for their new iphone xs lineups, and so on. But the fact is that their iphones sell insanely well, so they have absolutely no incentive to really do consumer friendly practices. Why include dongles when you can have people buy it externally, which means even more money? You see where I am getting at. Now to apple fans, I am not simply bashing apple on this one. Many companies are starting to do this dirty practice of excluding accessories that obviously should have came in the box, like the Surface Pro not coming with a pen for an example Honestly, it is annoying to see the industry starting to exclude stuff that should have been in the box. I am not trying to defend apple, and rather, I am ticked at the entire industry.

I like this implementation of multiple cameras. Having one for monochrome shots or depth is always weird to me because Google has perfected portrait. They don’t need lenses to help make an ugly portrait mode shot. So if you’re going to stick a bunch of cameras on your phone, give them different focal lengths. Wide shots are so dramatic and cool. Sometimes you just don’t have enough space to back up and this will come in handy.
