What? The "The V40's notch whereas with the Note9 it doesn't make any compromises at all". What? The Note 9 has huge bezels whereas the V40 has a screen instead. That was a dumb claim. And what's with the scrolling on the wallpapers to test SD845 performance? A cheap 150$ will scroll smoothly too. Both are great phones, no doubt. I prefer the V40 just for the camera system. Also, it's lighter so that's nice.

I've heard the LG is a little louder but the note sounds a little better and is still loud. Also I think the LG has one speaker while the note uses the earpiece to double as another speaker so that may be why I've heard some say the note sounds better. But the LG does have a high quality 32 bit DAC which they say is amazing. But I have neither phone so sorry I can't give you a definite answer.

Note 9 to me is the best all around for this year, it has all things that I need and more, big battery, big screen with no notch, headphone jack, s-pen, and stereo speakers. Plus, I like its boxy apperance. One thing I don't like and hope Samsung would get rid of it in future Note phones, is the curved edges, it's just a useless area for drawing and writing

Curved edge can be useful, if you use the Edge Lighting for quiet notifications during meetings, and Edge Screen apps for quicker access to preset apps. But, yes, it's not for everyone.

Cmon now with the screen comparison. Same resolution 1440. Only reason pixel density is slightly higher on the v40 is because the screen is smaller with a taller aspect ratio. From GSM arena for screen size. v40 100.5 cm squared note 9 103.2 cm squared. Question does a 51 inch 4k TV have better resolution than a 50 inch 4k TV... No. Apple started the pixel density thing because of their tiny 4 inch 720 p screens was the only way they could try to compare.

I've owned an LG and I freaking absolutely love them . but this time around but this time aroundI dumped my LG v40 and bought an Samsung Galaxy note 9 and I'm not even going to look back at LG. Me and my wife have started to buy a lot of Samsung smart goods and it just all works for us. But for me the second runner-up now would be LG . In fact in our lives we are doing everything South Korean even cars and other things.. the South Koreans have really jumped up with their technology and there reliability on cars electronics and I'm just completely blown away.

I know right like the note 9 has more storage at the same price also it has an S Pen plus. Plus it has two speakers although the v40 has a Hi-Fi quad DAC. Also little bit bitter screen with no notch. Much bigger battery. I don't know if it's fixed but the note 9 also has better a video recording capability and better slow motion. And the note 9 can retain more of its price. Lastly it is easier to find accessories and to get the phone fixed in the US at least. My advice only by the v40 after a few months when the price will absolutely crash or buy the cheaper G7 which which is only quote on quote "weaker" because it has an IPS screen plus a small battery a smaller screen and two cameras instead of 3.

All the tech reviewers consider it to be the no compromise phone as it's as close as you can get to one anyway. The LG v40 is a fine phone. It caters more to those who want the best audio experiance as it's king when it comes to music quality thanks to its dac. But as an all rounded, it can't match the all around no compromise and polished experiance that the note 9 has. Not to mention its feature set. If you want to go against the tech community and all reviews then your free to do so. But the tech community has spoken. Watch the reviews. Not a single one would argue that the lgv40 is a better buy then the note 9. If LG were smart they'd lower the price to 700ish. But asking what, about 900? Granted no one will say that a phone is ever worth that price. But if you must spend around a grand then the note 9 is always the one to go with when it comes to the all around experiance. But again if you value music quality and camera options, then the LG v40 is the one to bet. But it's camera system is not as polished as note 9, but certainly gives you more options for sure.

The Note 9 relies on gimmicks. Realistically who needs 128gbs of storage? I know I don't and also I just already use microsd cards because when I have that much media I prefer to keep it off my main drives. The S-Pen? I could see how some people would like it and get use but to me, it's an extra step and just isn't worth the hassle. I had the Note 7 before The Incident and I couldn't find a time to actually use the S-Pen where it wasn't absolutely excessive and unnecessary. Battery life I will admit it technically has an advantage but I personally don't see how people drain phone batteries. Mine has a two year old 3100 mAH battery that has definitely deteriorated and even with my moderate every day use I still finish days with 40-60% left. The V40 also has some gimmicks, because realistically who gives a fuck about 5 cameras with questionable quality, and ooo a notch! I personally miss the second screen feature of the V20 which could have totally been implemented instead of a notch but the thing is, these phones are basically on par with each other and most people won't be maxing out every feature so what it really boils down to is, do you want an S-Pen or 5 cameras and a notch? Pick a boring gimmick.

Honestly as far as notches go, the V40's really isn't that bad. Its not super wide and it's not deep at all. The bottom chin looks way smaller than the Note 9's too. I actually think this may be the first notched android phone I'd prefer to a non-notched one.

I don't know how lg is supposed to be a content monster with only 64gb of ram 😂😂😂 also, microsd cards are extremely unreliable. They fail like clockwork. note 9 has 512gb storage.

LG phones have such poor build quality. I have had 3 LG phones in 6 years and only the G2 stood out as the best. My wife's V30, while in a case, slid out of her pocket in our car and hit the carpet on the floor and the back glass broke. The GLASS CRACKED while falling less then a foot onto carpet 🤬🤬🤬. LG is piss poor build quality. Sending my broken G6 in for repair and THANKFULLY I bought the Note 9 and decided after 6 years of LG phones to switch over to Samsung. Best Decision I ever made. The battery last all day compared to my wife's V30, screen looks better, feels solid and has better build quality to it. Plus 128gb compared to 64gb of storage and yes, Double the storage makes a hell of a difference regardless if you can put a SD card in it. Don't forget the built in heart rate monitor that also read your stress level and last, the S Pen. The S Pen is bluetooth this time and has some amazing features that make it useful and fun to use.

Maybe there's some online deal but I'm with Verizon and there's no $200 off the note 9. You can get up to $300 off with a trade in and you supposed to be able to get $100 off by simply upgrading without a trade but when I called around to local Verizon stores they told me I can't get $100 off by simply upgrading even though the Verizon website says I can in fine print.

@@jimmyc1518 it was a very short promo, I mean record breaking short promo. I got 600 off for trading in my S9 directly with Samsung with their double trade in promo which I believe ends the first week of November.
