LG Velvet With Android 12: What's New?

Hello humans and welcome to a quick video on whats new to the LG Velvet with Android 12.
I recently installed the update which was nice of LG to do for its Velvet users. Android 12 brings a few new things to the table and I think they are great additions.

Very interesting, mine updated finally last night and I'm based in South Africa. I love the brand and its sad to see them not doing phones anymore as they did iny opinion had the best phone at one stage with the G2, I than had the G3 and G4 which was ok and they went a bit wierd with the Halo reach looking G5 which in concept was great but it didnt really do it for me. After that never went back until the Velvet launched as Im wiser now and realise flagships at flagship prices arent really a good buy and the mid level phones are actually better value.

G2 and G3 were both fantastic phones for their time! The G5 had the right idea, but poorly executed. I miss swapping out batteries at will 😞. The V series of phones are also great ones to check out! Thanks for the comment! 💪

I just noticed today. The update is as dull as could possibly be but I will say the device is smoother than it ever was on Android 10 back in the day. So the fact that it isn't broken in any way is a good tradeoff I guess.

LG will be releasing updates hopefully until end of 2023. They may be only 3 or 4 times a year. Thanks for the comment! 💪

Yeah it is sad. My first ever phone was an LG flip phone and I’ve had a few LGs since then. Maybe down the road they might come back. Only time will tell…

Hey bud, I grabbed a Velvet (Renewed) from microless. Always had LG's so hanging in there for as long as I can. Its a dual sim G900UMW. With android V10c-TWN-XX. I have it in Kiwi land and it will not update. I assume LG up will be the only way too move forward but I can't find any software to match the model number. Any idea??

Hola! I have not experienced any problems with my audio. Speakers are fine and headphones have no issues. The 3D sound option also works great. I hope you can resolve your issue soon! 🤞

How is the fingerprint log in? Some one said that he has to try more than 5 times.

It’s not the greatest. However, I did a little trick I learned online: when you are adding fingerprints, do each finger twice. Has a higher chance of recognizing your fingerprint. Caveat: the Velvet only allows for 4 fingerprints. 🙄🤦‍♂️

Sadly, t-mobile may not update to Android 12. I know other US carriers have already rolled out the update, but you may have to contact t-mobile just to be sure. Good luck!

Well Android 11 came like a year late on T mobile compared to the other velvets due to the mediatek processor. So it will probably arrive before the years up or Q1 of next year. Either way though people are gonna be discussing Android 14 by then.

Sadly I’m not sure. The Korean variants were amongst the first to get Android 12. At least in Korea. Check around online, something may be able to tell you how.

Android 12 is slated to roll out for the K52 but it may be Korea only or certain countries of the world. I could not find much information other than LG stating some of their last phones made will receive 2 OS updates. It’s hard to tell but keep your eyes peeled for some news online.

for the $200 range I would recommend a Samsung s10 or s10 plus for the support and security updates
